Exploring Lunar Settlements: Space Explorers Workshop at Tagore International School

On 30 August 2024, the school collaborated with SPACE Technology And Education Private Limited to host an exciting Space Explorers Workshop for students of Classes VI to VIII. This interactive, 90-minute session introduced students to the concept of space colonization, focusing on the need for lunar settlements. During the workshop, students explored why the Moon has been a prime candidate for space colonies and learned about the various challenges and solutions associated with living on the Moon. The highlight of the session was a hands-on model-building competition where students designed their own lunar settlements using simple materials. Through this practical approach, students gained deeper insight into space science, essential resources for survival in space, and the importance of scientific missions that have advanced our knowledge of the Moon. The workshop left students with enhanced curiosity and knowledge about the future of space exploration and human habitation beyond Earth.
