Acid attack survivors urgently need support to rebuild their lives, with access to medical care, rehabilitation, and societal acceptance. Our help can provide hope and a chance for them to regain their confidence and independence. The Flawless Flaws campaign, one of our unique social outreach programmes , has worked tirelessly for this noble cause. Ninaad is where funds are raised and survivors are given an opportunity to feel accepted and empowered. Ninaad 6.0 on 11 May 2024 was marked by the compassion and generosity of the previous years, Parents and students came together to sing, dance or perform, teachers and Team Awwam alike were tirelessly involved and made it a memorable day for all concerned. From tiny tots reciting poems, to a father and son duo rendering a beautiful Rabindrasangeet, dance performances by students across grades Nursery to XII, a graceful hula hoop item, Ms Malovika’s dance, Mr Vaibhav’s music and Ms N Saroj (Dean Academics) singing Tagore’s melodious ‘Purano Shei Diner Katha.’ A Mizo song by students in traditional Mizo dress provided an insight into their culture and the song about being satisfied with what one has and the true definition of wealth conveyed an important message to all. The MCs, Kavya and Adya received loud cheers, as did all the performers. Team Awwam’s nukkad natak Azaad Bharat ki Ghulam Tasveer was met with laughter from the audience but also touched a deep emotional chord with the spectators when they saw what actually happened in one case of acid attack. The highlight of the day was the Survivor’s Fashion Show where five brave women walked the ramp in kaftans designed by designer Ms. Rupa Chaudhary and with makeup done by Ms. Saburi Chopra and Sonakshi Singh (student) Stalls with cakes made by a student, plants and planters etc also did brisk business with all profits going towards the medical expenses and training of the survivors. Ninaad is not only a beautiful way of supporting those who truly need a helping hand but also a day when everyone in the school comes together in support and empathy.
