The 161st birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore  was commemorated on 9th May 2022 and  all classes participated in a variety  of activities. The primary section paid tribute to the poet by focusing on  his famous short  story, ‘Kabuliwala’. Students took the event forward by reciting poems and by highlighting Shantineketan’s core values as an inspiration in our lives.

The senior school students watched a presentation on Tagore, did a quick quiz and had some spirited discussions on how Tagore continues to be relevant.

Students who are a part of the various campaigns at school, also celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on 9th May 2022 on a virtual platform . This global event included students from India, USA, Canada and Australia who paid  their tributes to Gurudev through  various art forms. Raj Nandini, a student of our school, created a beautiful live painting, followed by Avnie talking about Tagore’s portrait of a “woman with a flower”. ‘Kabuliwala’ was enacted by our  theatre team. The event concluded with a melodious flute recital by a participant from Canada and a Rabindrasangeet sung by a student from the USA.

Each event was planned and conducted  with enthusiasm by both students and  teachers.
