Sanskrit Diwas celebrations on 21 August 2021

The occasion marked the celebration of the heritage language of India.

Sanskrit is one of the most pure and one of the most beautiful languages ever spoken. To generate interest and to promote the use of this heritage language among children and adults alike, Sanskrit Diwas was celebrated on Saturday, 21st August, 2021, using the online medium. The celebration was organised by Mrs. Usha Rani (TGT Sanskrit). The Chief Guest was Dr. Ashish Kumar, Sanskrit News host and anchor in DD NEWS. Sanskrit students from grades 6 to 10 attended the event, along with the Principal, and members of the teaching faculty.
The students were exposed to the finest expressions in the Sanskrit language with the various competitions organised on the occasion. Sanskrit Chitra Varnan, Shlok Uccharan, and Sanskrit dialogue delivery, to name a few, had the students not only competing with each other at an individual level but also across classes and that too in Sanskrit! A mélange of other events like songs rendered melodiously in Sanskrit, and dances set to Sanskrit shlokas, the master anchoring by presenters Smayan Gupta and Lavanya Saha left the audience spellbound. To top it all was the impeccable Sanskrit spoken by each and every student, across all grades. The enthusiastic performances also bore testimony to not only how much the students cherish the language but also have internalised it. Interesting and thought provoking questions asked from the audience, made this event interactive and engrossing. The Sanskrit Diwas 2021 was an immense success. The smooth transition from one event to the other, without a glitch, reflected the hard work and the effort of the participants and the
teacher.
The honourable Chief Guest, Dr. Ashish Kumar described the event as, ‘The best Sanskrit event that he has attended in the online mode, so far.’ He also appreciated the school’s as well as the Sanskrit teacher’s effort in promoting the language and taking it to such a high level of proficiency.
