Imagine a History class where you learn by stepping into the shoes of ancient Romans! On July 3, 2024, Class XI History students did just that, exploring gender roles and rights within the Roman social hierarchy. Guided by their mentor, Ms. Yachana Villaitrani, students created engaging skits and scenarios. The Nursery students at our school joyously celebrated Red Day with enthusiasm and creativity. Come April, as a new academic session commenced, middle school students found themselves faced with a delightful array of 15 Skill Clubs to choose from. Among these options, the Pottery Club stood out, promising a voyage into the field of artistic expression and tactile learning. Their maiden attempt at the Potter’s wheel proved to be quite an adventure in itself, filled with laughter and camaraderie as they navigated the intricacies of this craft. With each turn and twist of clay, they honed their dexterity and gained a deeper appreciation for the subtle nuances of pottery. They left the studio eagerly anticipating the next chapter in their creative journey.
Spoken sounds used to express one’s ideas got represented initially through visible signs and then through Cuneiform writing by Sumerians in ancient Mesopotamia more than 5000 years ago!Ms. Yachana Villaitrani on 08 May 2024 got the History students of class XI to experience writing on clay tablets and re-live the past times in a fun-filled activity.The History buffs, surprised each other by writing “messages of appreciation” using a self created Cuneiform-inspired script in the English language & made each other’s day. The activity was followed up by sharing of experiences and the challenges of writing on soft clay which enabled students to understand the challenges faced by Mesopotamian scribes back in the olden days.
On 10 May 2024 ,in the bustling meeting room of the skill club,What To Do When Doctor Is Not Around, students discussed the paramount importance of first aid. Their discussion highlighted how first aid transcends mere medical knowledge, extending into a realm of compassion and readiness to assist others in distress. They reflected on the empowering feeling of being equipped to handle emergencies confidently. As they exchanged ideas and experiences, the consensus was clear: first aid isn’t just a skill—it’s a mindset that embodies responsibility, empathy, and the potential to make a profound difference in the world.
In celebration of Earth Day 2024, the Green Teens of our school, comprised of students from Classes IX, X, and XI, joined forces with the Egghead Foundation, an organization dedicated to environmental sustainability. Together, they planted herbs and shrubs across our school campus. This collaborative effort aimed not only to enhance the beauty of our surroundings but also to provide a hands-on learning experience. Encouraging a deeper connection with nature and emphasizing the importance of biodiversity, this initiative imparted valuable lessons to our youth.
