Saburi Chopra won the Just Right Kids Award

Saburi Chopra of class XII has won the Just Right Kids Award under the People’s Choice category, winning the 3rd position at the national level on 2 April for project Saksham. She has been awarded a cash prize and certificate for the same. She is one amongst the selected 3 national awardees, out of 1000 applications.

Saburi Chopra has lifted the Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards 2022

Saburi Chopra of class XII has won a gold medallion, trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 3.5 lakhs in Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards 2022.  She has won this grand recognition for her work in Project Saksham which is to create inclusion for the intellectually challenged by constantly supporting, mentoring and honing their skills. She aims towards raising awareness about the inequalities faced by intellectually and physically challenged people. As the name suggests, Saksham means “Capable” and so is her aim to make every differently abled capable. Her regular workshops and mentoring sessions have helped differently abled sharpen their soft skills.
Mary Kom announced her as a National Honoree in today’s grand finale. thank you very much to everyone for your blessings and wishes.  they helped us win this recognition today which will motivate her to continue doing community service with more zeal.

In the Delhi State Judo Championship held in February 2022, Rakshit Tokas of class X C won the Gold Medal in ‘Under 17’ and  81 Kg weight category, whereas, Tanvi Nandal  of class IX won the Second position in ‘Under 17’ and 63 Kg weight category.

Akshita Singh of class XI B secured the Third  position in the Triple Jump event in the Inter Zonal Tournament of Delhi State School Games held in February 2022.

INTACH Filmit Film Festival

Filmit is a multi-cultural project, by Heritage Education and Communication Service, INTACH, that aims at nurturing cultural understanding, care and concern amongst school children through the exciting experience of making and sharing films.

For the Filmit Film Festival, the students of Snap Cine Club of our school have participated with their movie entries on the various topics on the ‘Heritage’ theme provided by INTACH. A total of 8 movies were submitted out of which we got three awards-

As a part of the virtual Film Festival, Lavnika Nanda of class VIII C recited a self-composed poem on her Filmit Experience. It was a very engaging and informative session where students got the opportunity to watch some of the best movies made by students across the country.

Winners of Business Design Challenge by upGrad

UpGrad Abroad organised the first edition of Future Leaders Scholarship Program (FLSP) for all students in classes XI and XII across the country. As champions of the 2021 edition,   Divya Sijwali and Parth Puri of class XI have emerged as the winners of the Business Design Competition. The two have earned a 100% fee waiver in Year 1 of upGrad Abroad’s Bachelor Program and an Apple Macbook.   The competition was structured into four stages. At each stage, students were provided with a new topic to create and present a business idea. They made their way into the top 4 teams and presented their idea to the prestigious jury consisting of Mr. Mayank Kumar, Ms. Janine Teo  and Mr. Ramesh Jude Thomas  on 31 January 2022.

Vrinda Arora is one of the top 25 winners in ‘School Action Project (SAP)’ by TERI

Project ‘Promoting Science & Health Communication through Outreach and Capacity Building of School Students and Linked Communities’ (Catalyzed and supported by National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India) which aspires to build the capacity of students, teachers and linked communities in science, health and personal behaviour. A series of competitions were organised as part of the project in 2021 and for the month of January 2022, TERI announced ‘School Action Project (SAP)’. The objective of this particular activity was to make students ideate on a ‘product’, develop it, and use it to spread awareness on issues that emerged with COVID-19 outbreak. 
Vrinda Arora of VIII C  developed an app AUSHADH as her entry forTERI project. “AUSHADH” is a mobile based app which intends to connect the young adults of a particular district (16-17 years) with people and provide them the right medical assistance through the app. The app will connect students pursuing science of class 11th and 12th with the help of their school will be trained with the basic knowledge of taking body vitals e.g. blood pressure, sugar, pulse and oxygen rate, etc and accordingly will be assigned small batches or areas for them to collect information and medical data of people wherein creating a bridge between the people who are unaware and lacking the medical support. Not Only this, these students would also be conducting campaigns to spread awareness regarding various non communicable diseases in small areas to make people more aware of their long term effects and encourage them to have healthy eating habits or how important it is to get themselves checked timely.Vrinda is one of the top 25 winners.

Team of four declared National winners at Youth Entrepreneur Business Challenge

Bavleen Kaur, Divya Sijwali, Gurmaan Singh and Parth Puri won the first position,  along with the title for  the best video pitch at the Youth Entrepreneur Business Challenge: tGELF/ JA India LEAD Company of the Year Competition (COY) 2021`. They are national winners. They will now compete at the international level.Our school has won this award for the third year in a row.

Tia Banerjee of class X B  won the Achievers Award in the category of  “Champions of Wellbeing,”  for her contribution to society in the field of Mental Health and Peer Mentoring. She will  receive a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 for her campaign.

Sanjana Bhatla of class X B won the Achievers Award for being an Advocate for ‘Inclusion of the last child’ for Project Sehpaathi. She will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.25,000 for her campaign with Project Sehpaathi.

Utkarsh Mishra qualifies for State level science exhibition

‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’ (INSPIRE) scheme is a programme of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), aim to motivate students in the age group of 10-15 years, studying in classes 6 to 10, to come up with original ideas/innovations rooted in science. The ideas   are selected based on novelty, social applicability, environment friendliness, user friendliness and comparative advantage over the existing similar technologies.

Utkarsh Mishra of XA  is the proud recipient of the INSPIRE award for the same. He will be awarded with INR 10000.00 to further his project and a direct entry into the CBSE state level science exhibition.

Arihant Jain qualified for the National round of 29th National Children Science Congress 2021

Our students of class VII, IX and XI  participated in the district level NCSC recently. The online competition was held under the aegis of the Delhi chapter. All seven students who presented three projects in all got selected for the state level which was held in the 2nd week of December. The projects presented under the theme of sustainable living were appreciated by the judges for their originality, crisp presentations and scientific methodology applied while conducting their research and experiments. One of our projects “Posture monitoring using AI” has been selected for the National round in December 2021. Arihant Jain of class XI C will present the prototype at the National Level.

In the AITA Lawn Tennis Championship Boys U-18 age category, Pratyaksh of class X C emerged the winner and runner up in the Doubles and Singles event held at New Delhi in December 2021.

TIS students discover an asteroid

Siddharth Singh Bhisht (XI C) and Aditi Rao (XI D) have made an original discovery of a new asteroid, that they have named SID 2703, via the June campaign of the All India Asteroid Search Campaign (AIASC) 2021 carried by the agency SPACE. 
We are proud of our students, Siddharth, and Aditi; and their mentors, Dr Remy and Ms Tulika.

Ratish Srivastava wins Silver Medal in RSFI National Skateboarding Championship

Ratish Srivastava of class V A won the Silver medal in RSFI National Skateboarding championship in the under 9-11 boys category, held in Mohali on 18 December 2021.

Aditya Talwar of class XI A won the Singles U-18 category  of AITA Tennis Tournament held at Kera Garhi, Delhi,  on 15 December 2021.

LalNunkimi won the Second prize in National Space Debate Competition

National Space Debate Competition was held at Nehru Planetarium on 26 November 2021. LalNunkimi of class IX C won the Second prize. She was awarded with a trophy, certificate and a prize money of INR. 3000/- . 

Ranvir Batra won the National round of TOI's Cartoon Caption Contest

As a part of their extensive campaign, The Trust of India, TOI, launched the student leg of the campaign, The Trust of India’s Cartoon Caption Contest on 12 October 2021.  Students had to choose an R.K Laxman Cartoon out of the 5 options presented which they could identify with, and give it a contemporary caption. The selection of winners was based on the quality of answers submitted – for both the cartoon caption and the Trust Question and Votes received on the entry till 31 October.

Twenty-three students of Tagore International School took the challenge and put their sharp minds and wits to work. And four of our students got selected as regional winners, among the twenty-five thousand entries received in both categories: Junior(Classes 5 to 8) and Senior(Classes 9 to 12).

Team Fabricreate bagged the first position at SANNAM S4 CHANGEMAKERS Competition 2021

SANNAM S4 CHANGEMAKERS Competition 2021 is a national level platform for students to explore local sustainability challenges and build and share solutions to drive India’s progress to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. 

Team Fabricreate, comprising of class XII students Malvika Chawla, Prerna Sharma, Sanya Sarin and Suhana Mehta , presented their business entrepreneurship idea on the issue of fast fashion,  which tackled the UN SDG  “responsible consumption and production. ” 

From among the 250 school as well as college and university teams that participated from across India,  team Fabricreate bagged the first position and received a cash prize of 3 lakhs 75 thousand rupees! 

The same team will now represent India and will pitch their idea on an international platform.

Students shine at ‘Climate crusade’ organised by NSS IIT Delhi

An online competition “Shades of Earth” was organised by Climate crusade, NSS IIT-DELHI,   which aimed to sensitize the youth about climate change. The team, composed of students of class X A,  namely Siddharth Voleti, Siddhant Sankalp and Rhythm Dahiya went through two gruelling rounds. The final round was held on 10 October 2021.  Proud to announce that the first position was bagged by the team. 

Ratish Srivastava qualifies for Nationals in Skateboarding Competition

Ratish Srivastava of class V A won the Silver medal in the Delhi State RSFI Skateboarding competition, in the age group 9-11 boys. He has qualified for the Nationals. We wish him all the best.

Pratyaksh is the winner of the DLTA National Tennis Championship

In the DLTA National tennis Championship Boys U 14 Doubles category, Pratyaksh of class X C emerged the winner. The match was held at R.K. Khanna Tennis Stadium, New Delhi in the month of October’ 21.

One of the biggest tennis tournaments held in India, the event gives the players only one opportunity each year to perform to their fullest and to prove themselves. Sponsors such as DLTA (Delhi Lawn Tennis Association), DCM Shri Ram, Fenesta, Head and Racquets4U supported the players over the last couple of days.

In the Quarters, Pratyaksh and his partner Dhruv Sachdeva defeated the 2nd Seeds, and then in the Finals too, they defeated the Top seeds (India No. 1and No. 4) 6-4 6-4.

Pratyaksh showed great character in the Semmis, when he hit an Ace at match point, down in the Super Tie Break.

Jesnoor Kaur wins Consolation prize in Essay Writing Competition

Experience Japan organised a National Level Essay Writing competition in September 2021 on the topic “Importance of Mother Tongue in building our Nation”. 48 schools participated with 237 participants. Jesnoor Kaur of class VIII C won the consolation prize along with 50% scholarship for their courses.

Students win accolades at Film and Art competition

A film  and Art competition on the theme ‘Grandparents’ was organised by Chinh India in September 2021. The following awards were won by our students. 

  • In the Junior category, Film making, Best Camera was taken by Samaira Monga of class IV B. Best Animation & Best Narration was bagged by Amairah Ssahdev of class IV B.  In Art competition, First prize was won by Ira Saxena of class VI C whereas Ranvir Batra of class VII C & Vedant Bhardwaj of V C won the Consolation prize.

  • In the Senior category, the First prize and Best Editing award was won by Siddhant Sankpal of class X A, the Third prize and Best Narration was bagged by Aadya Kamath of class IX A, while the Third prize was taken by Pritika Dhawan of class VIII C.

Whitecanvas India and Brainfeed magazine organised a competition- ‘India’s Top 20 Under 20’. Out of the 10,000 entries from across the country, six gruelling rounds, which included two jury rounds  and a time span covering  eleven months,  the final twenty winners were declared, which included Divya and Tishya. 

Through  powerpoint presentations,  both showcased  their individual  projects, which has created a social impact,  as  their work  was related to education of the less privileged,  through  virtual online classes, donation of  clothes and devices  and  book donation drives. ,  

The names of the twenty  winners will feature on the cover of the Brainfeed magazine.

Divya Sijwali receives Talerang’s 25 Under 25 award

Great news yet again for Divya Sijwali ! She has received  Talerang’s 25 Under 25 award. The award is given to students who have made their presence felt in areas such as entrepreneurship, or in the field of sports, or have created a social impact with their talent. 

Divya will be sharing her journey with Project Sehpaathi, the social initiative she is so closely involved with,  and also will express her gratitude on receiving the award in an interview with a member from Talerang, which will be held shortly.  As part of the award, she will also receive free mentorship from industry leaders from diverse backgrounds, such as Tanushree Bagrodia (Head Finance, Udaan), Hitesh Gararia (Senior Partner, KPMG) , Ramit Bhatnagar (COO, MJ Global) , Anuradha Sharma (Founder, Fulki), Neerja Tiku (Professor, School of Planning and Architecture), Seema Kamble (Social Educator, American School of Bombay)  and Akshay Navaladi (Co-Founder at Healthskool Pharmacy).

Budding Skaters

On the occasion of National Sports Day on 29 August 2021, “South Delhi Roller Skating Championship 2021” was organized under the aegis of BSMG Group (Bharat Sports Management Group). The competition saw active participation from children in the various age categories from ‘Under 7’  to the ‘Under 18’ age groups.  The budding talents 

  • Arjun Singh of class I B participated in the ‘under 7’ category and won the Gold medal under Adjustable Speed category.
  • Ananya Chaturvedi of class KG A participated in the ‘under 7’ category and won the Silver medal. She was the youngest participant in the age category. 

The event was organized at the Siri Fort Sports complex.  Over 100 skating enthusiasts took part and showcased their skills and abilities in the various events.

Our EWS Student wins Cadence scholarship by Joining Hands

Joining Hands, a Delhi based registered NGO, a non-profit organization,   sensitizes the youth by imparting education, training and developing skills,  through its various youth empowerment initiatives.  

One of their programmes, the Cadence Scholarship program, was conceptualized and implemented with the support of Cadence Design Systems Private Limited & Concern India Foundation in 2016. It addresses  the issue of retaining talented students from the lesser privileged section of  society in the academic cycle for better livelihood. 

Suitable students are identified through a rigorous process, and with the help of counseling sessions, research on the available courses and the admission process, the selected students are helped to make an informed career choice. The continual monitoring of their academic performance, the all-encompassing support, the mentoring and life skill sessions ensures that the beneficiaries of the scholarship reach their highest level of personal achievement. 

We are proud to share that after a rigorous selection process, Shalini Yadav of class 12 has been offered full scholarship into a college of her choice. She will receive financial support for her key educational expenses like course fees, hostel charges, books, etc.

In the Regional Finale Round of India’s  Spelling Bee 2020, Dhir Vikram Aggarwal of class II B  had won Third position, Neil Vikram Aggarwal of class III had won the Second position while Tishya Chandok of class VIII secured  the Third position. 

In  the National Finale Round held on 15 August, winners from all the four regions contested against each other. 

Dhir Vikram Aggarwal of class II B   won the First position while Neil Vikram Aggarwal of class III bagged the Third position. A proud moment for the two brothers. The results were declared in an online National Result Declaration event organised on Zoom, wherein each contestant of the National Round were interviewed and the National champions announced.

Pratyaksh - Runner Up at AITA Lawn Tennis Championship

Pratyaksh of class X C was the Runner-Up in AITA Championship Series ‘Under 18 Boys’ Singles Lawn Tennis tournament held at Gurgaon on 09 August 2021.

It was a special achievement for him as it was his first tournament after the lockdown.

A CFN Book review contest was organised by CFN on 21 July. Smayan Gupta of class X A is the winner in the 11 to 14 year age category. His insightful review of Trevor Noah’s book ‘Born a Crime’ showed a good grasp of themes and plot. The review featured in the August edition of  Child Friendly News.

Winners of Climate Reality India's Summer Programme 2021

A skill-enhancing practice-based summer programme on earth and climate change was organized in July 2021 by the ‘Climate Project Foundation’ where the students learned the concepts and skills from experts in the field of biodiversity, film making, storytelling and social media. Out of 200 students who were part of the programme, Medha Setia of class XI A won the first position in the story writing competition and Tanveer Singh of class IX A bagged the second position in the film making category.

Students shine at Virtual Storytelling Challenge

Engels India Virtual storytelling challenge was organised by Engels India on 27 June 2021.

In the Primary school category, Aarav Pandey of class III B won the first position, Aileen Walia of class III B and Sin Jhih Nie of class V A won the second position, Roha Nandi of class III won the third position. Aanya Taneja of class VI won the second position and Khushi Seth of class VIII won the third position in the Middle School category. Students won 100% scholarship for the basic level of public speaking and personality development program, worth INR 8000/-.

National Winners of Young Scientists Virtual Fair

Young Scientists Virtual Fair was organised by Bridge Intelia Knowledge Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in the month of May-June 2021. 

There were four national winners in the gold category from classes VI- VIII. Their projects were uploaded, graded and shortlisted.  In the final round, the students  had a one – on-one interaction with the judges. The winners are- Kabir Chugh- VI C, Aahana Sawan -VII A,  Sara Dyarakoti-VII B and Dikshita Chattopadhyay -VII B

The National Silver Winners are Rhea Luthra- XC and Krishiv Wahi of XB.

Advaye’s artwork selected for Kalam’s World Records

Advaye Gupta of class VII B participated in an art and craft event conducted virtually by Kalam’s World Records,  on 27 June 2021. Advaye’s art work with the theme – “Love your Earth to live your Life”, was selected. It was a beautifully sketched piece which was titled ’ Heart is Healthy when it is in Peace and Harmony with Nature’.

A total of 38 students participated in this event. Each participating student had created their own art as per the given theme on an A4 size paper. All the drawings were merged together to form a 40 Sq.Ft. art piece.A new world record validated by ‘Kalam World Records’ was created.

Debshata Choudhary makes it to the final round of Ganga Quest, National level Online Quiz

Debshata Choudhary of XI C, a member of the Eco club,  had made it to the final round of the GANGA QUEST, a National level online quiz organized by the Ministry of Environment and , after qualifying 4 preliminary rounds. In the final round, he stood sixth out of 35 participants. The final round was conducted by quiz master Ajay Poonia. He will be receiving a cash prize of ₹ 2500 and a certificate of Merit.

Congratulations to the future Changemaker

Vrinda Arora of class VIII C bagged the Lenovo Smarter Ed Scholarship,  sponsored by Lenovo,  in association with The Hindustan Times. Out of the 60,000 registrations that had come in from 1300 different schools, Vrinda’ s name featured among the top 32 candidates in the North zone,  and amongst the 100 winners in the country.  The winners were felicitated  in an live online ceremony,  on 25 June 2021,  and also featured in the Hindustan Times and the Mint.  The top 100 winners were rewarded with Lenovo laptops and tablets,  worth 25 lakhs.

Divya Sijwali selected as a head of ENpower's Student Advisory Board

Divya Sijwali of class XI A has been selected as one of the heads of ENpower’s Student Advisory Board (SAB) for the academic year 2021-22. She was selected as a member, after her participation in the IFT competition. She also had a session with some speakers from the UN on SDGs. Based on her involvement in the school’s social projects. Divya was selected to head a team, which includes members from schools across the country. The UN Sustainable Development Goal campaign will be headed by Divya Sijwali now. In her capacity as a student Advisor, she would be the prime person in charge of handling and suggesting amendments.

Smayan Gupta of class  X A was adjudicated as the best speaker at the debating event organised by ‘Behes’ in May 2021. There were 190 speakers in all from 8 cities. Behes follows a very competitive format of debating in which a participant needs to qualify many elimination rounds, to reach the finals. Smayan would now be participating in Maha Behes on 27 June 2021.

Somave Nath Sawhney of class XII A won the first prize in the ‘Under 18’ chess tournament,  out of 103 participants. The tournament was organised by ADD-ED India,  in association with the Action Committee,  in May 2021. He has received an e- certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 for winning this tournament.

Adya Aggarwal and Divya Sijwali have been declared as the grand prize winners in the Youth Writing contest. 

Belongg, a social venture, that seeks to bring discrimination-free services  to people who face prejudice and bias due to their identity,  had organised a yourh writing competition in May 2021.  The theme for the same was ‘Inclusivity’. Students were given the option of writing an essay, a flash fiction piece, or a poem.
