On 18 October 2024, the Rangon Ki Holi Rangoli Making Intra Class Competition for Class II brought a vibrant fusion of tradition, creativity, and learning. The enjoyable event allowed students  to showcase their artistic flair by crafting intricate rangoli designs. What made this competition truly unique was its innovative twist—students integrated mathematical patterns and shapes into their designs, blending culture with academics. Captain Cook – An Intra Class Competition for Class I  (October 2024)

On 16 October 2024, Class I students participated with great excitement in the Captain Cook (Flameless Cooking) intra-class competition. Themed “Tangy Treats,” the event featured delightful dishes such as Corn Chaat, Peanut Chaat, and Bhel Puri. Students independently prepared their recipes, showcasing their culinary skills while emphasizing hygiene with aprons, chef caps, and table mats. Creativity was on full display, with students presenting their unique recipes in a beautifully organized manner. The event not only fostered culinary skills but also boosted confidence and enthusiasm among the young participants and left everyone impressed by the students’ creativity and presentation. Developing Critical Thinking with De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats

Class VIII students participated in an engaging critical thinking activity during their English class using Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats method. The exercise required students to analyze a topic from multiple perspectives by “wearing” different hats symbolizing distinct thinking styles: factual, emotional, critical, optimistic, creative, and process-oriented. This structured approach helped students to refine their reasoning skills while fostering teamwork and effective communication. By encouraging them to consider all angles of a discussion, the activity promoted a deeper understanding of the subject matter. It was a rewarding experience that inspired collaborative and broadened thinking.

Learning Through Melody: Class VIII Students Explore Language Skills with Songs

Songs have long been recognized as an effective tool for language learning, and this was evident in a recent English class for Class VIII students. The students engaged in a listening activity featuring songs from the iconic movie ‘The Sound of Music’.  The catchy melodies, simple yet meaningful lyrics, and repetitive structures helped improve their listening skills and expand their vocabulary. Beyond language learning, the students also gained a glimpse into the culture of the film’s setting. The classroom came alive as students discussed the themes of the songs and hummed along, making the lesson both enjoyable and educational.  This innovative approach to language teaching emphasized the power of music in enhancing comprehension and retention, fostering a lively and engaging learning environment.

Skill Club Session on Oral Health

On 18 October 2024, the Skill Club students  had an insightful session  as part of ‘What to Do When the Doctor is Not Around?’ led by Lt Col Sheetal Asija, a periodontist from the parent community. The interactive session aimed to equip students with essential knowledge about handling dental emergencies. Myths surrounding oral health were debunked, and practical tips for dealing with dental issues before reaching a specialist were shared. The students left the session with  newfound confidence in managing dental emergencies, ensuring they know exactly what to do when a dentist isn’t immediately available.

Inter-House HasyaKavi Sammelan (XI-XII)

Hasya Kavi Sammelan – An inter-house poem recitation competition was organised for Classes IX-XII on 12  September 2024 to celebrate Hindi Diwas. Each house had two  participants, who had three  minutes each to recite a self-composed poem incorporating wit and humour. The theme of the competition was “Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat”, emphasising unity and diversity in India. Participants showcased their creativity by incorporating enjoyable  jokes while celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage. The event witnessed an impressive variety of performances, each highlighting different aspects of the nation’s unity. The competitors were both entertaining and thought-provoking, leaving the audience in splits of laughter . Persona Parade – An Intra-Class Competition for class Nursery (October 2024)

On 16 October 2024, the Nursery students brought fairy tales to life during the lively ‘Persona Parade’ intra-class competition. The young participants, dressed as their favourite fairy tale characters, showcased incredible creativity, wearing colourful outfits and using imaginative props. The event aimed to ignite their imagination while making learning fun, and it certainly succeeded! Inter-House Laghu Natika (VI-VIII)

Laghu Natika – An inter-house acting and play-writing competition was organised for classes VI-VIII on Thursday, 12 September 2024 to commemorate Hindi Diwas. Teams had a maximum of 8 members and were given individual topics to write a 5.30 min to 6 min play on. Participants were tasked with presenting humorous interpretations of famous sayings, encouraging creativity and wit. The plays brought traditional idioms to life, with teams delivering clever twists on well-known phrases, blending humour with cultural references. The competition not only highlighted the richness of Hindi as India’s national language but also provided a platform for students to explore the art of theatre, with an emphasis on creativity, teamwork, and spontaneity. Commemorating Lal Bahadur Shastri: A Tribute by Team Awaam

On 1 October 2024, Tagore International School’s theatre group, Team Awaam, delivered a stirring performance at the Prime Ministers’ Museum, paying homage to the legacy of Lal Bahadur Shastri. The play vividly portrayed Shastri’s unwavering values of simplicity, integrity, and patriotism, focusing on his pivotal contributions, including the Green Revolution and his iconic slogan, ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.’ It also captured his calm leadership during the 1965 India-Pakistan war, showcasing his strategic brilliance. The students’ powerful performance resonated deeply with the audience, leaving an enduring tribute to Shastri’s legacy and his lasting influence on modern India.
