Walking Through Time: Exploring Delhi’s Heritage

Ms. Swati Shukla, PGT History, participated in a unique workshop, Walking Through Time, held on 17 April 2025. The session delved into Delhi’s built heritage through insightful talks by heritage experts Saumya Liddle, Anirudh Kanisetti, and Dr. Narayani Gupta. The workshop encouraged teachers to explore history through local narratives, monuments, and cultural memory. This experience would help to foster deeper student engagement and ownership of heritage. STEM Learning Workshop for Class VIII Students

The school hosted an engaging STEM workshop for Class VIII students, conducted by Abhinav Singhal, on 11 April 2025. The session focused on exploring alternative learning beyond textbooks. Students learned about strong shapes and structures like triangles, cuboids, and cylinders. They explored different types of bridges—Truss, Cable, and Arch—and understood the science behind their strength. A hands-on activity followed, where teams built bridges using newspapers and masking tape, later tested with books and a football. The session was fun, educational, and fostered creativity, teamwork, and practical application of concepts.

Cyber Awareness Programme 

In light of growing concerns regarding digital safety, particularly related to cybercrime and online harassment, a Cyber Awareness Programme was planned for students of Classes VI to XII in the school. The programme was formally initiated on Friday, 11th April 2025, with a session conducted for students of Classes VI and VII. The session was led by Mr. Suresh Kumar from the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police, who engaged the students effectively and shared valuable insights on safe online practices. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Cyber Crime Unit (IFSO), Special Cell, Delhi Police, which is actively conducting awareness sessions to educate and empower citizens on issues of cyber security and digital well-being.

Career Counselling Session: Profile Building

A career counselling session on Profile Building was held at the school on 9 April 2025 for Classes X and XII. Experts from Riar Pro, including Ms. Chinu Vasudev and Mr. Ritesh Chawla, provided valuable insights on stream selection, career paths, and college admissions in India and abroad. The interactive session empowered students to explore their interests, understand the influence of AI on careers, and make informed academic and professional decisions.

Parents Orientation: Class IV

A Parent Orientation was conducted for Class IV parents and new admissions of Class V on 28 March 2025 to familiarize them with the school’s guidelines. The session began with a warm welcome, followed by the introduction of all faculty members. School rules, regulations, and academic expectations were explained in detail. Parents were encouraged to engage actively in their child’s learning journey. The interactive session provided an opportunity for them to address queries and concerns. The orientation concluded with a vote of thanks, ensuring that parents felt informed and connected with the school community.

Orientation for Classes X and XII: Preparing for Academic Success

An orientation session for Classes X and XII was held on 22 March 2025 to guide parents and students through this pivotal academic phase. The Principal, Ms. Jyotika Jakhar, introduced the school management and faculty while emphasizing discipline, punctuality, and expected conduct. Ms. N. Saroj, Dean of Academics, detailed the examination pattern, promotion policy, planner, and the option of a sixth subject. Useful websites such as www.cbse.nic.in, www.cbseacademic.in, and www.tagoreint.com were shared for reference. The session equipped students with essential knowledge and confidence for the year ahead.

Exploring the Cosmos: Astronomy Workshop for Classes I to V

Students of Classes I to V embarked on an exciting journey through space during a fascinating astronomy workshop. They observed Jupiter through a telescope and marvelled at the craters on the Moon’s surface, sparking their curiosity about the cosmos. The session explored the changing phases of the Moon, highlighting the Sun’s role in its illumination. To reinforce their understanding, students placed red dots on a chart to identify different lunar phases,  making learning interactive and engaging. This hands-on experience not only deepened their knowledge of lunar cycles and planetary observations but also ignited their passion for astronomy, making the session a truly stellar experience!

Stories can inspire kindness and courage

Students of Classes IV and V explored the idea of how stories can inspire kindness and courage during a virtual author talk session with Oklahoma-based authors Preston Walls and Amy M. Le, the mother-son duo behind Bus Stop Buddies – The Showdown. Towards this session, students participated in pre-reading activities such as predicting the story from the book cover and sharing personal anecdotes on the theme of ‘hurt and heal.’ These activities sparked curiosity and encouraged thoughtful reflections. During the session, the authors shared their writing journey, offering valuable insights and tips for budding writers. Students actively engaged with insightful questions, making the discussion lively and meaningful. The learning continued beyond the session with post-reading activities, where students designed anti-bullying posters and contributed to a pledge wall, reinforcing the book’s message of empathy and resilience. This enriching experience not only deepened the students’ love for literature but also empowered them with important life lessons, leaving them eager for more literary adventures.

Illuminating Minds: Grade VII Explores the Wonders of Light

An engaging workshop on optics by Ms. Pragya Nopany was organized for  Class VII students on 6 February 2025. The session provided hands-on experience with optical concepts such as reflection, refraction, transparency, and total internal reflection, using everyday materials. This practical approach enhanced students’ understanding of light behaviour through observation and experimentation. The workshop was well-received, with students actively participating and finding the experiments both insightful and enjoyable.

Empowering Voices: Effective Communication with Ms. Ritika Saraswat

An enlightening session titled ‘Effective Communication – Making Your Voice Heard’  was organized for the students of Class VIII on 6 February 2025. Ms. Ritika Saraswat, a distinguished international speaker, TEDx presenter, LinkedIn Top Voice and  the founder and CEO of Re-Defined, a platform supporting immigrants and international students in Canada, shared her extensive experience in public speaking, leadership, and social impact. She emphasised the importance of clear and confident communication, providing techniques for structuring thoughts and engaging audiences. Addressing common fears associated with public speaking, Ms. Saraswat offered practical strategies to build confidence and reduce anxiety. She also highlighted the significance of active listening and leveraging digital platforms to amplify one’s voice responsibly. Encouraging students to advocate for social change, she shared her experiences working with UN-affiliated organisations and One Young World, demonstrating the power of effective storytelling in creating global impact. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students posed insightful questions about public speaking challenges and leadership communication. Ms. Saraswat’s practical advice and motivational insights left the audience inspired to refine their communication skills and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
