Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, organized an insightful career counselling session on 30 September 2024, aimed at helping students make informed decisions about their academic and career paths. As part of the initiative, students underwent psychometric testing, consisting of an aptitude test and an interest inventory. These tests assessed their skills in areas like logical reasoning, numerical ability, and verbal comprehension, while also identifying their personal interests.   The session provided students and parents with detailed, personalized reports featuring easy-to-understand graphs and interpretations. Counselors guided them through subject choices for Classes XI and XII, linking their academic strengths and interests to potential college courses and career pathways. This initiative ensured that students could approach their future with clarity and confidence, making decisions aligned with their unique abilities and aspirations.

On 15 and 16 October 2024, students of Classes III to V  were treated to an exciting story session with Mr. Kanav Agnihotri, the author of ‘The Adventures of Super Sharkaru: The Shark That Flies’. The captivating story follows Super Sharkaru, a flying shark, on thrilling adventures, sparking the students’ imaginations. Mr. Agnihotri skillfully wove in important environmental themes, such as air, water, and space pollution, encouraging the students to reflect on these real-world issues. The session also featured an engaging animation that brought the characters to life , and a fun role-play activity where students acted out scenes from the story. The session concluded with a teaser for the upcoming sequel, ‘Super Sharkaru Flies to the Moon’, leaving the students eager for the next installment in this imaginative series.

To promote civic engagement and electoral literacy, students of Classes IX to XII learnt about the political process  in a webinar organized by CBSE. The session aimed to educate students about their rights and responsibilities as informed voters and encourage democratic participation.  The webinar offered insights into the electoral process and the importance of ethical behavior while exercising voting rights. By engaging with this resource, students were motivated to understand their civic duties, preparing them to become responsible and active participants in the nation’s democracy. This initiative is part of the broader mission to nurture well-rounded citizens who are not only academically accomplished but also socially responsible and ready to contribute to the democratic fabric of the country.

Students from Tagore International School had an exhilarating opportunity to visit the SPACE headquarters in Dwarka, New Delhi. Representing the school were two students, Vihaan Swarankar  and M.Vasanth, both of Class IX-A, who attended an immersive session on ‘Safe Solar Viewing’. The day began with a captivating theory session, where students explored the power of the sun, its layers, solar activity, and the importance of solar viewing precautions. The highlight of the day was hands-on activities, where participants observed the sun through telescopes, counted sunspots, and engaged in fascinating solar experiments. This unforgettable experience not only deepened their understanding of solar science but also fostered lasting friendships with students from other schools.

On 15 October 2024, our school  hosted a dynamic workshop and sensitization session for Class IX students in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Led by Mr. Samarth Pathak, Communications Officer (South Asia) and Regional Focal Point (Youth and Education) at UNODC, the ‘RiseUp4Peace’ initiative empowered students to foster peace, justice, and integrity. Through interactive discussions and activities, students explored key issues like mental health, cyber safety, gender equality, and anti-corruption, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 16. Practical guidelines and activities helped them realize their potential to be agents of change in their communities. This initiative strengthens the school’s commitment to shaping future leaders who are socially responsible and motivated to contribute to a more peaceful and just world.

Students of Classes IX and XI benefitted from  an enriching session on ‘Debating Skills’ on 14 October 2024, led by Mr. Advaith Nair from the Indian Debate League. With his extensive expertise, Mr. Nair shared powerful strategies to help students excel in competitive debating. He highlighted key debating techniques, providing valuable tips on structuring arguments, persuasive communication, and effective rebuttals. Through engaging case studies, he illustrated how debating has helped students secure coveted spots at Ivy League universities, showcasing the real-world impact of mastering these skills. The session not only enhanced students’ debating capabilities but also inspired them to explore new academic and career opportunities that debating can offer. This workshop was a step towards nurturing confident speakers and critical thinkers, laying the foundation for success on global platforms.

On 3 October 2024, Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, hosted two highly engaging sessions on the philosophy of Superpositivity, led by Mr. Vickrant Mahajan. A celebrated motivational speaker and author, Mr. Mahajan introduced students to his empowering concept of Superpositivity, encouraging them to adopt a positive mindset.   In the first session, Mr. Mahajan shared his “7 Basic Questions” designed to promote self-reflection and a positive outlook on life. The interactive session inspired students to think deeply about gratitude, self-improvement, and positivity.  In the second session, four students trained by Mr. Mahajan led their peers through their own interpretations of Superpositivity. Their confidence and enthusiasm demonstrated how deeply they had embraced the philosophy, motivating their peers to do the same.  Both sessions left a lasting impact, fostering a positive atmosphere and empowering students to incorporate Superpositivity into their daily lives.

Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, hosted an insightful Author’s Talk with Dr. Shamouly Khera for students of Classes X and XI. Dr. Khera, a well-known TV presenter, media producer, and executive coach, introduced her latest book ‘Letters to the Daughters of Tomorrow’, which highlights the importance of breaking stereotypes and empowering women to realize their full potential.  Dr. Khera described today’s working women as the “transition generation,” emphasizing their pivotal role in shaping a more equitable future. Students engaged actively, asking thoughtful questions and reflecting on her message about feminism being a movement against prejudice, not a battle of genders. The session left students with a fresh perspective on gender equality and an inspiring vision for the future.

On 30 September 2024, WeCare, the community outreach initiative at Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, organized an enriching Indian Sign Language (ISL) workshop in collaboration with ‘V-Shesh.’ Led by Ms. Iva, the session introduced 50 students to the importance of non-verbal communication and inclusivity.  The workshop began with an insightful discussion on how communication fosters understanding in diverse communities. Ms. Iva highlighted the significance of sign language in bridging the gap between hearing and non-hearing individuals. Students learned essential ISL basics, such as greetings, numbers, and everyday phrases, with a fun finger-spelling activity where they practiced spelling their names using sign language. Students not only gained practical ISL skills but also a new perspective on inclusive communication, enhancing the school’s mission to foster empathy and connection through WeCare’s initiatives.

On 9 September 2024, ten students from Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar had the privilege of attending an exclusive session titled *”STEM Stars: Aisha Bowe’s Tips for Aspiring STEMinists”*. The event, held at IIT Delhi, featured Aisha Bowe, a former NASA rocket scientist, entrepreneur, and soon-to-be astronaut. Aisha shared her inspiring journey in STEM, offering valuable advice on overcoming challenges and pursuing ambitious goals in science and technology.
