Recently, orientation sessions were conducted individually for each classes X and XII on Friday, 05 April and classes VI and IX on Saturday, 06 April 2024. Led by Ms. Isha Sood (Senior School Head Mistress) and Ms. N Saroj (Dean of Academics), these sessions addressed academic requirements, school ethos, and parental concerns. They provided a platform for parents to interact with subject teachers and appreciate the school’s holistic approach to student development. These initiatives underscore the collaborative role of parents and schools in fostering comprehensive child growth.

He shared their vision of using innovative and experiential study strategies to train students in logical reasoning. Their USP is being an end to end service, where the entire process of selecting universities, profile building, prep for various standardized tests, form filing etc for entrances in India or for applying to foreign universities is all taken care of. Their courses will be aligned with the school curriculum and thus coordinated to avoid clashes with school examinations. Going beyond textbooks and learning concepts in a holistic manner is their guarantee, said Mr Singhal. This is yet another new initiative taken by the school to offer students every possibleopportunity to fulfil their dreams and aspirations.
Mythos Lab and YouTube hosted an engaging Media Literacy Workshop for students of Class VIII on 23 February 2024. In today’s digital world where we are all bombarded with messages on social media, media literacy can help combat the current misinformation epidemic and empower students. The students participated in an open discussion addressing misinformation and disinformation. The importance of identifying them was also highlighted through short, entertaining videos. The students were introduced to three common tactics; decontextualizing, spoofing, and emotional manipulation, as well as how to identify and combat these using the innovative acronym SUCS (Source, Ubiquity, Context, Second Opinion). Students learnt how to protect themselves online, to verify news authenticity, develop critical thinking and promote responsible media usage. To reinforce key points, a short interactive game was played with the students at the very end. This was a significant workshop which empowered students to navigate the digital world in safety and with confidence
Dive into the world of storytelling with the Creative Writing Workshop organized by Hindustan Times on February 20, 2024, exclusively tailored for Class VII students. Led by Ms. Nitika Jain, the workshop unfolded a plethora of tips and tricks aimed at elevating the students’ skills in crafting compelling stories. Engaging activities such as “Complete the Story Line” and “Suggest an Alternative Ending” sparked creativity among the participants. The latter session by Ms. Surekha Jain introduced the young minds to the joys of writing in Hindi. A mesmerizing story was shared, complemented by a self-written poem, nurturing a newfound appreciation for the language. The workshop concluded with valuable feedback from the enthusiastic students and a gracious vote of thanks delivered by Ivaan Choudhury.
Growing up involves coming to terms with oneself, understanding one’s body, handling the emotional ups and downs of physical and emotional changes, friendships and relationships. The students of Class VI were introduced to some of these sensitive issues in an intensive session conducted by members of the NGO Pratisandhi on 20 January 2024. The first session focused on introducing the basics of male and female anatomy. and the changes during puberty, laying the foundation for a comprehensive understanding of human development. Students were provided with age-appropriate information addressing any misconceptions. The session aimed to eliminate stigma and promote open communication about reproductive health. The second session delved into the emotional aspects, helping students understand the correlation between physical and emotional changes, emphasizing the normalcy of experiencing a range of emotions during adolescence. Coping mechanisms were discussed to ssure, a comempower students to manage these changes effectively. Peer premon challenge, was addressed to equip students with the skills to make informed decisions and resist negative influences. The sessions encouraged open dialogue and active participation, creating a safe space for students to share their concerns and ask questions.
Students of Classes VIII and IX were captivated by an engaging talk from bestselling author Christopher Doyle on January 18, 2024. Having launched the first book of the Mahabharata Trilogy at our school in 2015, Doyle has continued to connect with our students online. This time, his focus was on “The Khandavprastha Conspiracy,” the trilogy’s third installment. Doyle’s eloquent discussion delved into his research on intriguing ancient mysteries, such as the Great Pyramid of Egypt, Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, and Stonehenge in England, suggesting that the ancient past conceals undiscovered secrets. He skillfully weaves these mysteries into fast-paced modern thrillers, sparking a flurry of questions from the enthralled students. The session concluded with a book signing, allowing eager readers to obtain autographed copies. According to Mr. Doyle, reading is the key to enhanced writing, increased awareness, and deeper understanding.
An insightful career talk session was organized on 19 December 2023 to generate awareness about the diverse and exciting career opportunities available in the Indian Navy. Our alumni Anuvrat Pandey (2021)who is currently in Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala Kerala took this session for students of Class XI. He shared his personal experiences, shedding light on the challenges and rewards of a naval career. He also spoke about the multifaceted career paths within the Indian Navy, emphasizing the diversity of roles available. From technical positions in engineering and logistics to leadership roles in naval operations, he outlined the broad spectrum of opportunities awaiting those who choose to serve in the Navy . He explained the educational and eligibility criteria for joining the Indian Navy, providing crucial information for aspiring candidates. To inspire a sense of patriotism and commitment, the career talk concluded with a video presentation showcasing the Indian Navy’s impressive achievements and its role in disaster relief operations. Anuvrat’s enthusiasm left a lot of students enthused about this career choice.
On December 20, 2023, the students of Class III engaged in an enlightening session with Dr. Gaurav Khera. Centered around safety awareness, the session proved to be an invaluable opportunity for our young learners to gain essential knowledge on injury prevention, basic wound care, recognizing emergencies, and the importance of seeking help. The event aimed not only to equip students with practical skills but also to instill a sense of responsibility, preparedness, and community safety. Dr. Khera’s hands-on demonstrations provided students with a tangible understanding of dealing with minor injuries, augmenting their comprehension of first aid and real-life applications. The interactive approach contributed to a more engaged and informed group of students. The session underscored the significance of cultivating calm and responsible responses during emergencies, empowering students with the confidence to navigate challenges and take prompt action when required. On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, eighth-grade students enjoyed an engaging session with Mr. Abhinav Singhal, Co-Founder of Class24 and Afterskool Innovations Pvt. Ltd. The interactive gathering explored concepts such as Pressure, Force, Trigonometry, and Geometrical Shapes through hands-on activities. Mr. Abhinav ingeniously used simple materials like newspaper, cardboard, and straws to demonstrate the strength of pyramids and explain the rationale behind cylindrical pillars. What set this session apart was Mr. Abhinav’s insightful integration of science and engineering principles into the discussion of historical monuments. This innovative approach not only demystified complex subjects but also showcased how everyday materials and historical monuments can collaborate to make learning a dynamic and memorable experience. It was a Saturday well utilised when teachers from various schools of Delhi came together for a workshop guided by Ms Sonia Bhatia of TIS ,VV on 16 December 2023. They explored New Dimensions in Hindi Teaching and had an amazing time diving deep into new methodologies and activities as per NCF. It was an engaged and passionate group of 100 participants from different schools of Delhi who had gathered at Maxfort Pitampura They appreciated Sonia ma’am’s insights and had questions and contributions which made the session truly interactive and valuable.
