Empowering Future Voters: Electoral Literacy Webinar for Senior Students

To promote civic engagement and electoral literacy, students of Classes IX to XII learnt about the political process  in a webinar organized by CBSE. The session aimed to educate students about their rights and responsibilities as informed voters and encourage democratic participation.  The webinar offered insights into the electoral process and the importance of ethical behavior while exercising voting rights. By engaging with this resource, students were motivated to understand their civic duties, preparing them to become responsible and active participants in the nation’s democracy. This initiative is part of the broader mission to nurture well-rounded citizens who are not only academically accomplished but also socially responsible and ready to contribute to the democratic fabric of the country.

Exploring the Universe: TIS Students Visit SPACE Headquarters in Dwarka  

Students from Tagore International School had an exhilarating opportunity to visit the SPACE headquarters in Dwarka, New Delhi. Representing the school were two students, Vihaan Swarankar  and M.Vasanth, both of Class IX-A, who attended an immersive session on ‘Safe Solar Viewing’. The day began with a captivating theory session, where students explored the power of the sun, its layers, solar activity, and the importance of solar viewing precautions. The highlight of the day was hands-on activities, where participants observed the sun through telescopes, counted sunspots, and engaged in fascinating solar experiments. This unforgettable experience not only deepened their understanding of solar science but also fostered lasting friendships with students from other schools.

Shaping the Future We Want: Let’s RiseUp4Peace!

On 15 October 2024, our school  hosted a dynamic workshop and sensitization session for Class IX students in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Led by Mr. Samarth Pathak, Communications Officer (South Asia) and Regional Focal Point (Youth and Education) at UNODC, the ‘RiseUp4Peace’ initiative empowered students to foster peace, justice, and integrity. Through interactive discussions and activities, students explored key issues like mental health, cyber safety, gender equality, and anti-corruption, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 16. Practical guidelines and activities helped them realize their potential to be agents of change in their communities. This initiative strengthens the school’s commitment to shaping future leaders who are socially responsible and motivated to contribute to a more peaceful and just world.

TIS Students Visit Naz Foundation for a Meaningful Exchange

On 15 October 2024, students from both branches of Tagore International School (Vasant Vihar and East of Kailash), part of the Breaking Barriers outreach program, visited the Naz Foundation to engage in an enriching dialogue about the queer community. Led by Mr. Sahil and other community members, the session focused on fostering understanding, addressing societal stigma, and creating safe spaces for marginalized groups. The interaction included personal stories from both sides, collaborative discussions on elevating the cause, and a ‘Superpositivity Exchange’ inspired by Mr. Vickrant Mahajan’s seminar. This visit reinforced our students’ commitment to inclusivity, with future workshops planned to promote greater awareness of LGBTQ+ issues within our school community.

Persona Parade – An Intra-Class Competition for class Nursery (October 2024)

On 16 October 2024, the Nursery students brought fairy tales to life during the lively ‘Persona Parade’ intra-class competition. The young participants, dressed as their favourite fairy tale characters, showcased incredible creativity, wearing colourful outfits and using imaginative props. The event aimed to ignite their imagination while making learning fun, and it certainly succeeded! The enthusiasm and excitement of the students added to the joy of this magical experience, making it a day to remember. Inter-House Laghu Natika (VI-VIII)

Laghu Natika – An inter-house acting and play-writing competition was organised for classes VI-VIII on Thursday, 12 September 2024 to commemorate Hindi Diwas. Teams had a maximum of 8 members and were given individual topics to write a 5.30 min to 6 min play on. Participants were tasked with presenting humorous interpretations of famous sayings, encouraging creativity and wit. The plays brought traditional idioms to life, with teams delivering clever twists on well-known phrases, blending humour with cultural references. The competition not only highlighted the richness of Hindi as India’s national language but also provided a platform for students to explore the art of theatre, with an emphasis on creativity, teamwork, and spontaneity. Commemorating Lal Bahadur Shastri: A Tribute by Team Awaam

On 1 October 2024, Tagore International School’s theatre group, Team Awaam, delivered a stirring performance at the Prime Ministers’ Museum, paying homage to the legacy of Lal Bahadur Shastri. The play vividly portrayed Shastri’s unwavering values of simplicity, integrity, and patriotism, focusing on his pivotal contributions, including the Green Revolution and his iconic slogan, ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.’ It also captured his calm leadership during the 1965 India-Pakistan war, showcasing his strategic brilliance. The students’ powerful performance resonated deeply with the audience, leaving an enduring tribute to Shastri’s legacy and his lasting influence on modern India.

Sanskrit Diwas Celebrations

In celebration of Sanskrit Week, Class IX Sanskrit students organized a variety of activities and games for middle school classes. These engaging sessions allowed students to experience and appreciate the profound essence of our ancient root language.

Mathematics Odyssey: A Creative Exploration of Numbers

Math Week 2024 at Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, brought together creativity and problem-solving for students of Classes III to V. Held in the breezy Science Park, the vibrant event showcased students’ mathematical understanding through captivating displays of Math-inspired artwork, hands-on models, and innovative projects. Engaging board games, riddles, and activities such as Mandala Patterns, Fractional Harmony, Puzzle Mania, and Mathematician Masquerade brought mathematical concepts to life, making learning both fun and interactive. The students demonstrated teamwork and enthusiasm as they dove deep into math, solving mind-bending puzzles and creating stunning patterns. This immersive experience highlighted the joy of learning mathematics in a creative and exciting way, leaving students eager to continue their journey into the world of numbers. Empowering Future Leaders: Debating Skills Session at TISVV

Students of Classes IX and XI benefitted from  an enriching session on ‘Debating Skills’ on 14 October 2024, led by Mr. Advaith Nair from the Indian Debate League. With his extensive expertise, Mr. Nair shared powerful strategies to help students excel in competitive debating. He highlighted key debating techniques, providing valuable tips on structuring arguments, persuasive communication, and effective rebuttals. Through engaging case studies, he illustrated how debating has helped students secure coveted spots at Ivy League universities, showcasing the real-world impact of mastering these skills. The session not only enhanced students’ debating capabilities but also inspired them to explore new academic and career opportunities that debating can offer. This workshop was a step towards nurturing confident speakers and critical thinkers, laying the foundation for success on global platforms.
