On 7 February 2025, The Missing Links Organization hosted a pivotal panel discussion and round table conference at The Grand Hotel, New Delhi, focusing on preventing child abuse and trafficking. The event included government officials, NGOs, legal experts, social workers, academics, and student representatives, including our student Sonakshi Sharma of Class XI. Discussions emphasised the 4C’s Framework: Children, Caregivers, Community, and Child Protection Ecosystem Stakeholders. The panel highlighted the essential role of educators as the first line of defence in child protection, stressing the importance of training teachers to respond sensitively to disclosures. The increasing risks children face online were also addressed, with a call for enhanced digital literacy. Sonakshi shared her experiences with online safety challenges, advocating for student-led initiatives to foster a supportive school environment. The conference underscored the need for multi-sectoral partnerships to create safer spaces for children.
The Junior School Prize Distribution Ceremony for Classes Nursery to V was a grand celebration of student excellence across various fields. The event recognised winners of intra-class competitions, applauding their talent and dedication. Special awards for full attendance highlighted the commitment of students, while the Teachers’ Awards acknowledged the relentless efforts of educators in shaping young minds. The Sunshine Awards honoured compassionate volunteers who assisted visually impaired students, fostering inclusivity and kindness. Sports awards celebrated outstanding athletic performances, encouraging teamwork and physical fitness. Enthralling dance and music performances brought beauty and joy to the event. Computer Prowess 2025, an exhilarating intra-class competition was organized recently for students of Classes I to V. Each class took on unique digital challenges linked to global sustainability themes, showcasing remarkable talent and innovation and seamlessly blending technology with creativity. From digital art to coding and multimedia storytelling, students demonstrated their skills with enthusiasm. Class I and II illustrated “Our Future Planet” (SDG 11) through MS Paint and Paint 3D, while Class III coded interactive Scratch 3.0 games on “Life on Land” (SDG 3). Class IV created compelling PowerPoint presentations on “Building a Greener Planet” (SDG 11), and Class V designed impactful Canva videos on “Responsible Consumption and Production” (SDG 12). On 7 and 8 January 2025, ‘Sanchayan’, the annual creative and performing arts festival of the Primary Wing, showcased the rich cultural tapestry of North Eastern India. Energetic performers from Classes I to V captivated audiences with plays such as “Eclipse in Bamboo Stem”, “The Boastful Jackal”, “The Tale of the Hornbill and the Naga Warrior”, “Tashi – A Tale of Two Brothers”, and “Tejimola – The Skylark Girl”. These performances, interwoven with Indian and Western songs, poems, and dances, received resounding applause. Students also displayed their clay modelling creations, highlighting their creativity and craftsmanship. An indigenous gaming zone featured attractions like “Glitch Garden”, “Google Teachable Machine”, and “Catch the Apple”, with “Match the Character” being a crowd favourite. An engaging workshop on optics by Ms. Pragya Nopany was organized for Class VII students on 6 February 2025. The session provided hands-on experience with optical concepts such as reflection, refraction, transparency, and total internal reflection, using everyday materials. This practical approach enhanced students’ understanding of light behaviour through observation and experimentation. The workshop was well-received, with students actively participating and finding the experiments both insightful and enjoyable.
The KG Intra-Class Competition was held on 29 January 2025, sparking joy and imagination among its youngest learners. Themed Spring, the competition encouraged children to express their creativity through freehand drawings. Their vibrant artwork, filled with fresh colours and imaginative details, beautifully captured the essence of the season. Each child brought their own unique perspective to the competition, making it a delightful visual treat. An enlightening session titled ‘Effective Communication – Making Your Voice Heard’ was organized for the students of Class VIII on 6 February 2025. Ms. Ritika Saraswat, a distinguished international speaker, TEDx presenter, LinkedIn Top Voice and the founder and CEO of Re-Defined, a platform supporting immigrants and international students in Canada, shared her extensive experience in public speaking, leadership, and social impact. She emphasised the importance of clear and confident communication, providing techniques for structuring thoughts and engaging audiences. Addressing common fears associated with public speaking, Ms. Saraswat offered practical strategies to build confidence and reduce anxiety. She also highlighted the significance of active listening and leveraging digital platforms to amplify one’s voice responsibly. Encouraging students to advocate for social change, she shared her experiences working with UN-affiliated organisations and One Young World, demonstrating the power of effective storytelling in creating global impact. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students posed insightful questions about public speaking challenges and leadership communication. Ms. Saraswat’s practical advice and motivational insights left the audience inspired to refine their communication skills and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
From 27 to 28 January 2025, students of the Astronomy Club embarked on an unforgettable journey to Tusk and Roar Resort near Jim Corbett National Park, organised by SPACE India. Against the stunning backdrop of the forest and hills, students explored the wonders of the night sky, observing constellations and planets, using telescopes, and understanding celestial movements. They also received their first telescope, the Space Launcher 50mm. This immersive experience blended adventure with education, leaving students with newfound knowledge and cherished memories.
The Senior Prize Distribution Ceremony of Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar was held on 27 January 2025 with great enthusiasm. The event began with a warm welcome address, followed by the school report and a melodious song. Awards were presented in various categories, including International Awards, Outstanding Achievement Awards in Co-curricular Activities and Sports, Special Merit Awards (Dr. H Sen, TESA, Devkusum, and others), Parent Awards, Teachers Awards, and Support Staff Awards. The chief guest, Ms Veditha Reddy, IAS, Director, Education & Sports, Government of NCT of Delhi, applauded the efforts of the school in providing holistic development to the students. She encouraged the students to have a dream and to pursue it passionately without looking for shortcuts. A captivating theatrical performance preceded the chief guest’s address, which inspired the audience. Additional awards, such as the Shobha Bhavnani Ability Awards, Club Heads Awards, Inter House Competitions, Cabinet Awards, Sunshine Awards, 100% Attendance Awards highlighted the event. The ceremony concluded with the announcement of the winning house, leaving the audience motivated and filled with a sense of pride.
Students of all classes celebrated the 76th Republic Day with a short yet solemn ceremony. The event commenced with an inspiring speech by Ishanvi of Class XI B, reflecting on the significance of the Indian Constitution and the values it upholds. The Principal, Ms Jyotika Jakhar, unfurled the national flag, instilling a sense of pride and unity among students and staff. As the entire school stood around the atrium, the resonant notes of the National Anthem brought the celebration to a conclusion, reinforcing the essence of patriotism and democracy.
