Empowering Parents Through Comprehensive Sexuality Education

On 9 November 2024, a workshop on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) was organised at Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, for parents of students from Classes IX to XII. Conducted by a team from the NGO Pratisandhi, the session addressed essential aspects of teenage psycho-sexual development, providing insights into typical behaviors and common myths surrounding CSE. Parents learned practical strategies for fostering open communication, becoming “askable” figures who create a supportive, non-judgmental environment for their children. The workshop also covered approaches to common teen issues, offering parents confidence in guiding discussions around this sensitive topic. A concluding Q&A session allowed parents to address their queries directly, leaving them with valuable tools to navigate and support their children’s growth effectively.

Persona Parade – An Intra-Class Competition for class KG (October 2024)

On 18 October 2024, the ‘Persona Parade’ intra-class competition for Kindergarten offered young students the opportunity to proudly display their creativity by portraying their favorite cartoon characters. Adorned in vibrant costumes, they enthusiastically brought to life beloved figures such as Peppa Pig, Batman, Doraemon, and Elsa. The event encouraged imagination and boosted confidence as the children entertained their peers with dynamic performances. Filled with cheer, applause, and excitement, the competition was a truly memorable experience for both the budding performers and their audience. Build-a-Thon – An Intra Class Competition for Class V  (October 2024)

On 18 October 2024, the students of Class V  participated in the exciting ‘Build-a-Thon: Sustainable Model Designing’ competition. This engaging activity encouraged students to work in pairs to design eco-friendly models, focusing on crucial environmental concepts such as CO2 removal through clean energy, smart city designs, hydroponics, aquaculture, solar energy harvesting, and rainwater harvesting techniques. Using recycled materials, the young innovators crafted their models, which were then evaluated on creativity, teamwork, sustainability impact, and presentation skills. The competition not only fostered creativity but also deepened students’ understanding of real-world environmental issues and solutions, helping shape future change. Product Bingo – An Intra Class Competition for Class IV (October 2024)

On 18 October 2024, Class IV students participated in the Intra-Class Brochure Making Competition on “My Vision of a Sustainable City.” Students enthusiastically designed four-panel brochures on A4 sheets, creatively presenting their ideas for sustainable urban living. Focusing on key areas such as Transport, Communication, Infrastructure, and Cleanliness (Waste Management), they used cutouts, pictures, and written content to express their unique visions. This activity highlighted students’ awareness and creativity, as they showcased impressive insights into urban sustainability. The event successfully fostered innovation and environmental awareness, motivating students to think critically about building a greener future. The enjoyable event allowed students  to showcase their artistic flair by crafting intricate rangoli designs. What made this competition truly unique was its innovative twist—students integrated mathematical patterns and shapes into their designs, blending culture with academics. This hands-on activity encouraged the children to explore geometry in a fun and creative way, making the event not only a celebration of art but also a learning experience. On 16 October 2024, Class I students participated with great excitement in the Captain Cook (Flameless Cooking) intra-class competition. Themed “Tangy Treats,” the event featured delightful dishes such as Corn Chaat, Peanut Chaat, and Bhel Puri. Students independently prepared their recipes, showcasing their culinary skills while emphasizing hygiene with aprons, chef caps, and table mats. Creativity was on full display, with students presenting their unique recipes in a beautifully organized manner. The event not only fostered culinary skills but also boosted confidence and enthusiasm among the young participants and left everyone impressed by the students’ creativity and presentation. Cyber Safety Workshops Promote Responsible Digital Citizenship

From 21 to 25 October 2024, a series of cyber safety workshops was organized for students of Classes VI to XII. The one-hour sessions aimed to equip students with essential knowledge about cyber safety, cyber crime, and online hygiene. Key topics included protecting personal information, understanding cyber crimes, and adopting safe practices on social media and other digital platforms. Through interactive activities, students learned how to navigate online risks and make responsible digital choices. These engaging sessions provided valuable insights into maintaining a secure digital presence, fostering a safer and more informed community of young digital citizens.

Empowering Informed Career Choices: A Comprehensive Counselling Session  

Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, organized an insightful career counselling session on 30 September 2024, aimed at helping students make informed decisions about their academic and career paths. As part of the initiative, students underwent psychometric testing, consisting of an aptitude test and an interest inventory. These tests assessed their skills in areas like logical reasoning, numerical ability, and verbal comprehension, while also identifying their personal interests.   The session provided students and parents with detailed, personalized reports featuring easy-to-understand graphs and interpretations. Counselors guided them through subject choices for Classes XI and XII, linking their academic strengths and interests to potential college courses and career pathways. This initiative ensured that students could approach their future with clarity and confidence, making decisions aligned with their unique abilities and aspirations.

Social Outreach Campaigns Presented  at AFFWA Week

On 25 October 2024, members of the many social outreach programmes  of Tagore International School participated in an impactful event hosted by the Air Force Family Welfare Association (AFFWA). The team presented the goals of various school campaigns focused on social awareness, including Breaking Barriers, Flawless Flaws, and Saksham, which aim to foster inclusivity and community engagement. The event’s highlight was an inspiring play titled Ehsaas, performed by Team Awaam, the school’s theatre group. The play depicted the life of Lakshmi Tripathi, an influential transgender activist, and was met with enthusiastic engagement from the audience. This event showcased the school’s dedication to promoting essential social issues, sparking meaningful discussions on inclusivity among attendees.
