Clay Carnival – An Intra-Class Competition for class Nursery ( August 2024)

The ‘Clay Carnival’ intra-class competition for Nursery students, held on 29 August 2024, was a vibrant display of creativity and learning. The young participants eagerly rolled their play dough, shaping it into colorful fruits and vegetables, each piece a testament to their imagination and skill. This engaging activity not only sparked their creativity but also helped in strengthening their muscles, improving dexterity, and enhancing hand-eye coordination. Watching the little ones immersed in their creations was a true joy, making the event a delightful and enriching experience for all involved. Little Puppeteers – An Intra Class Competition for Class I  (August 2024)

On 27 August 2024, students of Class I participated in the “Little Puppeteers” Intra-Class Competition, where they displayed their storytelling skills using finger puppets. The event revolved around the theme of Folklore and Famous Fables. Enthusiastic students brought stories like The Woodcutter and the Axe, The Three Little Pigs, and The Lion and the Mouse to life with their creative use of finger puppets. The competition not only enhanced their storytelling abilities but also provided a fun, engaging way to learn classic tales, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained. Prismatic 2024 : Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion

Prismatic 2024 – An Inclusivity Fest, on 28 August was an unforgettable celebration of diversity and inclusion, bringing together students from 15 schools in a vibrant display of talent and creativity. The event, aptly named for its symbolism of a prism’s spectrum, was a day-long festival that featured  competitions designed to challenge participants to innovate and express the essence of inclusivity. Highlights included the Inclusive Innovation Challenge, where students pitched groundbreaking products and services promoting diversity, and Artistic Synergy, a platform for creative expressions through performing and visual arts. The event was graced by the esteemed Mr. Geoffrey Dean, Head of Political, Economic, and Public Affairs at the High Commission of Canada, and a distinguished panel of judges,  including Dr Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, a visionary leader in transgender rights and empowerment, whose work has significantly advanced gender equality and human rights globally, Mr Akshat Tyagi, Head of DEI at The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group who shared his extensive expertise in fostering inclusive environments within the hospitality industry and Mr Sushant Kalra, the founder of the Parwarish Institute of Parenting,who brought his insights on modern parenting, highlighting the importance of education, sex education, and technology management. Adding to the event’s vibrancy, the host school’s team Awaam delivered a moving cultural performance, which resonated deeply with the themes of the day. Prismatic 2024 not only celebrated talents but also emphasized the vital importance of inclusivity in our community, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees.

A Celebration of Books at the Annual School Book Fair

From 22 to 24 August 2024, the school hosted its much-anticipated Annual Book Fair, creating an engaging opportunity for students to delve into the magical world of books. The event was meticulously organized to nurture a love for reading and promote greater awareness among students by offering an impressive selection of books. The fair featured an array of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and educational resources, catering to diverse interests. Students eagerly explored the various collections, discovering new titles and enriching their literary experiences. The Book Fair not only enhanced students’ reading habits but also encouraged them to embrace the joy of learning through books.

The Young ChangeMakers Dialogue on Peace and AI

On August 6, 2024, students from WeCare and The Interact Club attended “The Young ChangeMakers Dialogue” at the American Centre. The event focused on “Peace and the Digitized World (AI edition)” and featured engaging discussions with notable speakers such as Mercedes Soria, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer at Kingstonscope Inc., and CJ Wood, a diplomat from the US Embassy.  Ten schools from Delhi participated in this workshop, providing students with a valuable experience and exposure to global perspectives. The students were grouped to discuss “Peace with AI,” sharing innovative ideas on using AI to solve and prevent crises. The discussions were highly informative and insightful, enriching students’ understanding of the intersection between peace and technology. Overall, the event was an enlightening and enriching experience for all participants, fostering a deeper understanding of the role of AI in promoting global peace.

Fusion Fantasy–An Intra Class Competition for Class  V  (August 2024)

On 27 August 2024, Class V students participated in the Intra-Class competition, Fusion Fantasy, where creativity knew no bounds. The competition was a unique showcase of traditional Indian art forms, presented in a vibrant and dynamic manner. Students crafted compelling advertisements that not only highlighted the essence and historical significance of their chosen art forms but also aimed to educate and captivate the audience. The fusion of Warli art, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Garba , Mughal architecture, Mandala art, and Yoga created a harmonious and visually stunning presentation that blended visual art with physical and expressive disciplines. The audience was enthralled by the seamless integration of these diverse art forms, experiencing a rich tapestry of culture and tradition. Fusion Fantasy  celebrated the diversity and richness of Indian cultural heritage through the students’ innovative and creative expressions. Unlocking CUET Admissions: A Career Talk for Classes XI and XII

On 22nd August 2024, Classes XI and XII students participated in an enlightening career talk session titled ‘Unlocking CUET Admissions’ led by Ms Nandini Sharma, a distinguished gold medalist from Delhi University. Ms Sharma, currently an educator and career coach, shared her extensive knowledge on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). With degrees in Electronic Science and Informatics, and a strong presence on social media, she is a respected voice in the education community. The session provided a comprehensive overview of CUET, covering the exam pattern, subject selection, study resources, and preparation strategies. Ms Sharma emphasized the alignment between the CUET syllabus and the Class XII Board syllabus, reassuring students about simultaneous preparation. The interactive Q&A session allowed students to gain personalized insights, leaving them more confident and better prepared for this crucial entrance exam.

Inter-House Fusion: Music & Dance  (VIII-XII)

The Dance and Music Competition themed “Echoes of East” which resonates with the celebrations of Independence Day was a vibrant showcase of cultural pride in our heritage. Participants from various age groups delivered captivating performances, blending traditional dance with contemporary styles. All the houses showcased their allotted states’ culture with great energy and innovative renditions of patriotic themes. The event celebrated the region’s cultural diversity and struggle for independence, with a rich array of performances depicting the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and more , creating a memorable tribute to the spirit of freedom. The first position was secured by Shanti House followed by Pragati House securing the second position in the competition. Empowered Choices: Class X Sexuality Education Workshop by Pratisandhi 

On 23 August 2024, Class X students participated in a pivotal sexuality education workshop conducted by the Pratisandhi organization. The workshop addressed crucial topics such as sexual health, consent, masturbation, virginity, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The session began with a focus on informed decision-making and mutual respect, encouraging students to approach sexual activity responsibly. Masturbation was normalized as a natural behavior, breaking associated stigmas. Myths surrounding virginity and the hymen were debunked, highlighting that virginity is a social construct. Various contraceptive methods were discussed, emphasizing informed choices. Students also learned about STIs, their prevention, and the importance of regular medical check-ups. The session ended with a Q & A where students’  queries were addressed with care. This workshop provided a safe, respectful environment for exploring these topics, empowering students to make responsible and informed choices.

II-Ad Mania  – An Intra Class Competition for Class II (August 2024)

The ‘Ad Mania (Ad Making)’ intra-class competition for Class II took place on 20 August 2024. After an initial screening, six students from each section were chosen to participate. The young contestants showcased their imaginative flair by promoting products like mosquito racquets, vegetable vendors, cricket academies, and hair oil. They brought their advertisements to life with creative costumes, catchy jingles, and colourful props, delivering jingles in both English and Hindi. The presentations were brimming with humour, leaving the audience in fits of laughter.
