Devoted to serving humanity, the foundation stands as a sanctuary for adults facing physical, mental, and emotional challenges.Amidst various challenges, the residents exuded contentment, actively participating in activities that stimulated their minds and fostered a sense of community. Our students actively contributed to the foundation’s mission by donating 100 blankets. The expressed gratitude from both staff and residents served as a poignant reminder to our students about the importance of community support for those facing adversity. In the spirit of service and empathy, our students left The Earth Saviours Foundation with hearts filled with compassion and a renewed commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
On December 13, 2023, the Breaking Barriers team from Tagore International School had the privilege of participating in a meaningful event hosted by JLL (ACCENTURE) to mark World Human Rights Day. Celebrating the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, the session featured esteemed Human Rights Activist Harish Iyer as the guest speaker. The core focus of the hour-long online session centered around inclusivity within workspaces. Project Heads from Tagore International School, representing various initiatives, actively engaged in discussions, illustrating how the school cultivates an inclusive environment. They underscored the transferability of these principles to professional workplaces, emphasizing that the fundamental human right of being respected should be universally upheld. The session culminated with a thought-provoking observation: the responsibility for inclusivity lies with those who are included, shifting the narrative away from those who may feel excluded. This insightful session highlighted the active role individuals can play in promoting inclusivity and safeguarding human rights, both in educational institutions and professional settings.
On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, eighth-grade students enjoyed an engaging session with Mr. Abhinav Singhal, Co-Founder of Class24 and Afterskool Innovations Pvt. Ltd. The interactive gathering explored concepts such as Pressure, Force, Trigonometry, and Geometrical Shapes through hands-on activities. Mr. Abhinav ingeniously used simple materials like newspaper, cardboard, and straws to demonstrate the strength of pyramids and explain the rationale behind cylindrical pillars. What set this session apart was Mr. Abhinav’s insightful integration of science and engineering principles into the discussion of historical monuments. This innovative approach not only demystified complex subjects but also showcased how everyday materials and historical monuments can collaborate to make learning a dynamic and memorable experience. This session truly captured the essence of _”Education Through Monuments”_ in an innovative way.
They had the privilege to meet curator Vikramjit Singh Rooprai at the Sampravah Pavillion. Under his guidance, they delved into the intricate world of Baolis, gaining profound insights into the design and systematic principles behind these ancient structures. His expertise shed light on the fascinating interplay between art, architecture, and science, providing a unique perspective that will undoubtedly contribute to the team’s ongoing “Education through Monuments” project.

On Wednesday, December 13, the school buzzed with excitement as students adorned their House goal posts, adorned balloons, and hung banners, all resonating with the theme ‘Pixels to Pitches.’ Painted in their House colors, faces beamed with anticipation as mascots stood ready and competitors warmed up. Ms. Bhavna Tokekar, our esteemed Chief Guest, shared her journey from a late-starting powerlifter to holding the world record for a single lift bench-press of 77 kg. Passing the torch, she administered the oath, stressing the vital role of integrating sports into our daily lives. In alignment with our school’s commitment to inclusivity, the day commenced with a unified race for students from Tamanna school celebrating their moments of triumph. This was followed by a race where the visually impaired students showcased their mettle. In the subsequent races our dedicated support staff displayed their fitness prowess in spirited competition. From hurdles to flat races, inter-House relays to high jumps and shot put, each event radiated excitement and fierce competitiveness. The race between the main cabinet and assistant main cabinet engaged the entire school, uniting students in a spirited display of camaraderie and friendly competition. The vibrant atmosphere echoed with the students’ exuberant cheers, further elevated by the crisp commentary delivered by Priyanshu, Soha, Prabhtej, and Tishya. The prestigious JK Sen Memorial Prize, recognizing the Best Sports Boy and Girl in each category, found deserving recipients this year. Nitin Ekka of Class XIIB and Gauri Bansal of Class XIB claimed the honor in the Senior category, while Adarsh Chauhan of VIIB and Aarna Sapra of VIIIA emerged victorious in the Junior category. Adding to the triumph, Shanti House secured the overall trophy for the best House, achieving an impressive hat trick for the third consecutive year. Pragati House earned the well-deserved runner-up position. Beyond the medal standings, the essence of true sportsmanship shone through, emphasizing that victory is not the sole measure of success; gracefully accepting defeat is equally paramount. In the spirit of healthy competition, we believe that everyone who participates emerges as a winner. Following the Biennial, Sports Day 2023 became another cherished memory for the senior school students, showcasing the enduring spirit of camaraderie and athletic excellence. Keeping up the TIS tradition of celebrating all festivals and showing students the beauty of diversity and inclusiveness, Christmas was celebrated with a lot of excitement and energy. A short Nativity play featuring Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the Wise Men, shepherds and Angels brought the age old Christmas story to life for the little ones. Melodious Christmas carols (sung by the school Choir) echoed through the Atrium, bringing the message of joy and goodwill to all. The beautifully decorated Christmas Tree was a unique creation as it was created entirely out of discarded material, particularly empty plastic bottles. The red gold and green decorations all around added to the festive spirit . Little ones from the Primary wing made adorable little Santa Clauses and Angels. The cafeteria too served some special Christmas goodies. This happy start to the Yuletide season created an atmosphere of festivity across the school
An exhilarating Intra class Singing Competition ‘The Voice’ was held on 28 November 2023 for the talented young voices of Class III. This musical event provided a dynamic platform for students to demonstrate their singing skills and their passion for music.To witness the children’s level of excitement as they showcased their vocal prowess was most enjoyable. The event not only showcased their musical abilities but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and appreciation for each other’s talents. The efforts of these young singers received genuine appreciation and much applause, making it a memorable day full of music, learning, and friendly competition. Mathematics involves using logical reasoning and critical thinking to solve problems. Mathematics has many applications in science, engineering, finance, and other fields and is essential for developing new technologies and advancing human knowledge. An intra class Math quiz competition, Numero Uno was held on 29 November 2023 for Class V to enhance observation and analytical skills of students. It provided the participants a platform to sharpen their passion for Math through an enjoyable and brainstorming session. The quiz comprised of four rounds; Numerical Ability, Math Mystery, Maths Mashup, and Knowledge Knockout. Participants exhibited tremendous potential as they listened intently to the questions and answered with great eagerness. The audience too showed keen interest and enjoyed the quiz as well on mathematical facts and mathematicians. The quiz enriched the knowledge and boosted their confidence. ‘Tangram Safari’ was an absorbing intra class competition held in December 2023 for the students of Class II. Students from all the sections were enthused by the multifarious possibilities of tangrams and displayed their creativity by assembling the tangram shapes into figures like camel, cat, dog, fish, man praying, houses and more. They decorated the figures with motifs of their choice and presented them with innovative backgrounds. What to do when the doctor is not around? Students in this skill club learn many practical and useful tips and skills. On Dec 15, 2023, students engaged in interactive learning with Dr. Shweta Bhola, a specialist in Homeopathic medicine. The session delved into the principle of ‘Similia Similibus Curentur,’ where diseases are treated with substances similar to the disease itself. Students were captivated by the myth-busting discussion on the ‘miracle sugar globules’. The curriculum of a degree course in Homeopathy and Institutes offering the courses were also discussed. It was an excellent insight into an alternative system of medicine.
