An exhilarating Intra class Singing Competition ‘The Voice’ was held on 28 November 2023 for the talented young voices of Class III. This musical event provided a dynamic platform for students to demonstrate their singing skills and their passion for music.To witness the children’s level of excitement as they showcased their vocal prowess was most enjoyable. The event not only showcased their musical abilities but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and appreciation for each other’s talents. Mathematics involves using logical reasoning and critical thinking to solve problems. Mathematics has many applications in science, engineering, finance, and other fields and is essential for developing new technologies and advancing human knowledge. An intra class Math quiz competition, Numero Uno was held on 29 November 2023 for Class V to enhance observation and analytical skills of students. It provided the participants a platform to sharpen their passion for Math through an enjoyable and brainstorming session. The quiz comprised of four rounds; Numerical Ability, Math Mystery, Maths Mashup, and Knowledge Knockout. Participants exhibited tremendous potential as they listened intently to the questions and answered with great eagerness. The audience too showed keen interest and enjoyed the quiz as well on mathematical facts and mathematicians. The quiz enriched the knowledge and boosted their confidence. ‘Tangram Safari’ was an absorbing intra class competition held in December 2023 for the students of Class II. Students from all the sections were enthused by the multifarious possibilities of tangrams and displayed their creativity by assembling the tangram shapes into figures like camel, cat, dog, fish, man praying, houses and more. They decorated the figures with motifs of their choice and presented them with innovative backgrounds. What to do when the doctor is not around? Students in this skill club learn many practical and useful tips and skills. On Dec 15, 2023, students engaged in interactive learning with Dr. Shweta Bhola, a specialist in Homeopathic medicine. The session delved into the principle of ‘Similia Similibus Curentur,’ where diseases are treated with substances similar to the disease itself. Students were captivated by the myth-busting discussion on the ‘miracle sugar globules’. The curriculum of a degree course in Homeopathy and Institutes offering the courses were also discussed. It was an excellent insight into an alternative system of medicine.
To promote and encourage a fun way of learning among students, an Intra Class Math quiz competition, Trivia-Matic, was held on 29 November 2023 for Class IV.The quiz included five rounds; Warm up, Teasing Times, Picture Perfect, Double Trouble and Fastest First. Students participated with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. An audience round was conducted to encourage participation from the audience, giving everyone a chance to test their understanding of mathematical conceptsThe quiz helped the students in identifying their mathematical capabilities, enhanced their knowledge and sparked their curiosity. Our young artists of Class I dazzled us with their skills in the Intra-Class ‘Cosmic Connections-DIY With Shapes’ (collage making) Competition. They brought cut outs of mathematical shapes and pasted them on A4 sheets to create scenarios depicting the vastness and beauty of the space. They skilfully displayed their creativity and imagination. They showcased excellent presentations and a variety of talent. It was a Saturday well utilised when teachers from various schools of Delhi came together for a workshop guided by Ms Sonia Bhatia of TIS ,VV on 16 December 2023. They explored New Dimensions in Hindi Teaching and had an amazing time diving deep into new methodologies and activities as per NCF. It was an engaged and passionate group of 100 participants from different schools of Delhi who had gathered at Maxfort Pitampura They appreciated Sonia ma’am’s insights and had questions and contributions which made the session truly interactive and valuable.
Gurupurab, the joyous festival commemorating the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of our school. The school transformed into an excited space filled with the chanting of kirtan and prayers. The celebrations started with the students of Team AWAAM sharing anecdotes from the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with the primary students. A lively Nagar Kirtan procession reverberated through the corridors of the school with students dressed in vibrant traditional attire who walked with pride and devotion singing hymns from Gurbani. After the Nagar Kirtan, everyone gathered for the Langar Prasad which was made and distributed by the students, demonstrating the spirit of devotion and community. Adding to the festive vibes, the students from the primary wing came dressed in colourful traditional attire and exchanged sweets. By fostering such meaningful experiences, the school aims to shape well-rounded individuals who embrace diversity, lead with compassion, and strive to make the world a better place.
Stories create magic and a sense of wonder at the world. Children love to listen to stories and learn about different cultures and imbibe values. Telling stories requires a different set of skills, builds confidence and enhances communication skills. The KG students participated in Tell a Tale – storytelling with puppets competition with their usual enthusiasm. They employed voice modulation and used puppets effectively while narrating their stories. All the stories concluded with a moral and left the audience with something to reflect upon. Donate an Hour is a volunteering platform where people from diverse backgrounds and different walks of society, come together with the aim of giving it back to the society. The NGO has built a self-sustainable ecosystem for the growth of underprivileged. Our students visited their Gurugram campus on 30 November 2023 to ‘donate time to shape lives’. The visit incorporated warm hospitality in an interactive environment. Mr. Divya Prakash, the Co-founder, gave a detailed history of DoaR’s beginnings and development. Interacting with pupils, activities and Q & A sessions improved participants’ comprehension and bolstered the sense of community. Students left with an insight into the generosity and community involvement that are integral to DoaR’s objectives.
