To promote and encourage an engaging way of learning among students, an Intra-Class Math Quiz Competition, ‘BRAINIACS,’ was organized for Class IV. The preliminary round took place on 13 November 2024. The quiz featured five rounds; Warm-Up, Teasing Times, Picture Perfect, Double Trouble, and Fastest First. Students participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their skills and potential. Additionally, an audience round was conducted to involve the students in the audience, offering them an opportunity to test their understanding of mathematical concepts. The event enabled students to recognize their abilities and inspired them to broaden their knowledge. The quiz stimulated curiosity among the participants, boosting their confidence, sharpening their mental acuity, and fostering a fun-filled learning experience simultaneously. From depicting the Earth to an underwater scene with turtles and crabs, from autumn trees to serene mountain rivers, each mosaic was a testament to the students’ imagination and precision. On 9 December 2024, the final peer mentoring session of the academic year for Classes VI, VII, and VIII centred on the transformative power of gratitude. Peer mentors guided students through reflective practices, verbal expressions of gratitude, and journaling techniques. Engaging videos, interactive games like the Gratitude Game, and visual aids enriched the session, highlighting the profound impact of gratitude on personal well-being and relationships. This interactive and meaningful session left students inspired to embrace gratitude in their daily lives.
On 5 Dec 2024, our Class V students engaged in an exhilarating Intra-Class Math Competition: Numero Uno. Divided into four teams, they battled it out in a series of rounds: a visual round testing their general knowledge, a rapid-fire round for quick calculations and a fun, interactive round that tested their mathematical knowledge. On 10 December 2024, Class VIII students Parnika Ahlawat and Krish Marwah participated in an astronomy workshop organised by Space India at the historic Qutub Minar, New Delhi. The workshop introduced students to an ancient yet effective method of calculating the Earth’s circumference using shadow measurement and trigonometry. Using small sticks to represent the shadows cast by Qutub Minar, participants calculated the angle of sunlight striking the Earth, combining mathematical precision with astronomical insights. Additionally, students explored the Sanderson Sundial, enhancing their understanding of timekeeping and celestial observations. This interactive session merged history, science, and mathematics, offering a fascinating learning experience.
On 7 December 2024, our school organized Winterlude- a grand fete on the school grounds, which buzzed with excitement and activity. Students, parents, and teachers participated enthusiastically, making the event a resounding success. The fete offered a variety of attractions, including food stalls, games, rides, and a vibrant cultural program. The aroma of delicious snacks, the thrill of winning prizes and the laughter from game stalls filled the air. Students enjoyed the carnival rides and bought gifts, stationery and toys from different stalls. A live music performance added to the festive vibe, keeping the audience entertained. The soulful songs requested by the visitors and students escalated the excitement and joy. It was a celebration of community spirit, where bonds were strengthened and simple joys were cherished that left behind lasting memories, reminding us of the importance of coming together to celebrate life’s small pleasures.
On 29 November 2024, our students reaffirmed their dedication to greater inclusivity in society by hosting Pathways to Pride: Creating LGBTQIA+ Support Systems in Schools in collaboration with The Naz Foundation (India) Trust. The event began with an inspiring presentation chronicling the Breaking Barriers campaign’s 11-year journey, highlighting milestones in creating safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals. A workshop led by The Naz Foundation delved into the challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ students, the impact of bullying, and practical strategies for promoting mental well-being through empathy and understanding. Interactive activities, including an icebreaker and a Q&A session, provided participants with opportunities to explore concepts like inclusive language and support systems. A brainstorming session with counsellors resulted in actionable strategies for cultivating safe school environments. This impactful event left participants better equipped to create a compassionate and accepting community, reinforcing the school’s commitment to inclusion and equality.
On 25 November 2024 the school organized a workshop on child protection under the POCSO Act for the entire support staff, to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students. Led by the Senior School Counselor, Ms. Komal Malik, the session focused on guidelines for maintaining transparency and upholding boundaries in interactions with children. The support staff were educated on protocols such as avoiding secluded spaces, ensuring visibility, and respecting students’ privacy. Practical scenarios and video resources highlighted the importance of vigilance and reporting concerns to designated authorities. We pride ourselves on having very caring and reliable support staff, and this initiative further underscored the school’s dedication to safeguarding its students and ensuring the safety of every child within the campus.
