Embracing Gratitude: Team Sehpaathi at Jagriti

On December 20, 2024, Team Sehpaathi orchestrated a meaningful gratitude session at Jagriti, an NGO committed to supporting underprivileged children. During their visit, the student volunteers from Team Sehpaathi connected with dedicated teachers and the founder of the institute. The children at Jagriti eagerly embraced the opportunity to meet the team. Playing games, sharing gratitude stories, and talking about hobbies created a joyful atmosphere. Laughter and expressions of thanks filled the air as the team discussed ways to bring gratitude into daily life, like making gratitude jars. The kids at Jagriti were awesome, and Team Sehpaathi gave them stationery items to make their day even brighter. It was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved.

Expanding Horizons: Breaking Barriers Campaign Reaches Bal Bharati, Pitampura

The Breaking Barriers Campaign recently extended its reach to Bal Bharati, Pitampura, where a Gender Sensitisation session was conducted on January 23, 2024. The session included engaging icebreaker activities and discussions on LGBTQ+ terminologies, addressing issues such as discrimination, myths, legal interventions, and media portrayal. Speakers shared personal experiences, encouraging students to create a safer environment and be supportive allies. The Naz Foundation’s support, along with impactful stories from Vaibhav and Siddhant, contributed to the campaign’s success. Promoting empathy and understanding, the initiative aims to break down barriers and foster an inclusive community.

Celebrating 75 Years of Unity in Diversity: A Republic Day 2024

“In the tapestry of India’s diversity, each thread contributes to the strength of our nation.” – Unknown On a crisp winter morning, as the flag unfurled with due ceremony and the National Anthem resounded through the school atrium, hearts swelled with pride at being citizens of this glorious nation. “बलिदानों का सपना जब सच हुआ, देश तभी आज़ाद हुआ, आज सलाम करें उन वीरों को, जिनकी शहादत से यह भारत गणतंत्र हुआ।” quoted Shivanya Khare and Saiesha Gupta in their speech, emphasizing the sacrifices that led to our nation’s freedom. Principal Dr. Parul Tyagi encouraged students to aspire to be exemplary citizens. The younger ones joyfully waved flags, while seniors absorbed the message of equality, liberty, and justice embedded in our Constitution. As we commemorate the 75th Republic Day, let’s reaffirm our commitment to inclusivity, justice, and progress. Together, let’s weave a future where every citizen’s voice is heard, and every thread in our diverse fabric contributes to the vibrant tapestry of our great nation.

Embarking on New Horizons: Graduation Day 2023-24

The school auditorium radiated joy with floral arrangements, garlands and smiles as the Graduation Ceremony unfolded for Grade XII students on the morning of January 20, 2024. Commencing with the lighting of the lamp amidst shloka chanting, the event featured Chief Guest Lieutenant General Satish Dua, PVSM, UYSM, SM, VSM (retired Chief of Integrated Defence Staff), presenting personalized citations along with copies of the yearbook titled ‘Reverie’ to the graduating students. The rendition of ‘Graduation’ by ‘Vitamin C’ and the fusion dance on ‘Unstoppable’ by Sia had the audience enthralled, tapping their feet along. The coveted Rabindra Ratna Award for the academic session 2023-24 was conferred upon Vaanya Kalra for her outstanding contributions in both curricular and co-curricular activities. The valedictory speeches by the outgoing President and a student from each section took us down the memory lane, revisiting the highs and lows, common excuses, washroom woes, heartburns, camaraderie, escapades and all through the school years leaving everyone in tears and laughter. Sparkling Send-Off to the Class of 2024

On January 20, 2024, Grade XI students at Tagore International School orchestrated a dazzling farewell, a joyous symbol of valediction for their graduating seniors. What transpired was a spellbinding evening of memories, adorned with captivating performances, an extravagant feast, abundant accolades and music to liberate the soul. The school atrium transformed into a cosmopolitan dream, complete with a red carpet that warmly welcomed each 12th grader and their date as they made a captivating entrance, adorned in attire radiating glamour, seamlessly aligned with the night’s theme – the Manhattan Gala. For the departing batch, this glamorous soirée marked a majestic conclusion to their school years, a celebration of camaraderie with mentors and friends amid the Manhattan-inspired splendor. As the grade XI students bid adieu to their seniors, the evening stirred a mosaic of emotions, encapsulating cherished memories and the anticipation of future endeavors.

IIT Vibhinn 2024: LGBTQIA Pride Festival”

IIT Vibhinn 2024, the All India Queer Collective Conference, marked a significant milestone in the journey of celebrating diversity and inclusion. Held on January 13, 2024, the event commenced with a dynamic panel discussion titled ‘Radical Empathy – Building an Inclusive Queer Pedagogy, Infrastructure, and Culture.’ The atmosphere resonated with vibrant expressions of gay pride, fostering unity, acceptance, and love among enthusiastic participants from diverse backgrounds. The focal point of the event was the insightful panel discussion, addressing the imperative for transformative policies at the institutional level. Engaging conversations emphasized the need to move beyond mere tolerance towards embracing true diversity, exploring practical steps for fostering inclusivity. The event transcended a mere celebration; it became a powerful platform for advocacy and change. Notably, students from the Breaking Barriers campaign not only attended but actively participated by posing questions on how schools can become more inclusive, earning appreciation from all present.

Empowering Organ Donation: Outlive Yourself Team’s Exclusive Ministry Visit

In a significant stride towards advancing their mission to promote organ donation, the Outlive Yourself team received an exclusive invitation from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Delhi. Interactions with Dr. Atul Goel, Director General of Health Affairs, and Dr. Krishnan Kumar, Chief Medical Officer of the Ministry, proved transformative, emphasizing the vital role of collaborative efforts for community well-being. The insightful discussion offered a glimpse into the government’s perspective on organ donation and transplantation in India, reshaping our students’ perspectives on this sensitive topic. The Ministry’s appreciation of our campaign and advocacy not only served to inspire the students but also highlighted the critical need for collective action in this field.

Capturing Creativity: Sarv Sahodaya Art & Photography Exhibition 2023

The Sarv Sahodaya Art & Photography Exhibition unfolded on Thursday, 23 November and Friday, 24 November 2023, at Sadhu Vaswani International School for Girls. In the domain of painting, students were immersed in a themed exploration. They were tasked with creating a visual interpretation of “Kabir ke Dohey” by incorporating the given folk arts. Our students, Pragya Khanna and Niharika Thakur of grade XI  engaged in the intricate process of depicting Kabir’s verses, namely; “कबीर सो धन संचिए जो आगेकंूहोइ” and “मरखू संग न कीजिए, लोहा जल न तिराई”; using Warli Art from Maharashtra. The ensuing process not only enhanced their artistic skills but also provided a unique lens through which to comprehend profound philosophical concepts. In the photography segment, the theme “Expressions to Impressions” encapsulated the journey from capturing raw emotions to creating lasting impressions. Lavnika Nanda of grade X submitted the photograph titled ‘Ballet of Souls’ and Atharva Chauhan captured ‘Radiant Transformations’. The students delved into the world of visual storytelling, using their lenses to convey the nuanced transitions from initial expressions to enduring imprints. Beyond mastering artistic techniques, they gained a deeper understanding of cultural expressions and the ability to seamlessly intertwine art with literature. We celebrate the students’ accomplishments and the dedication of educators who embraced this initiative. The integration of art into our curriculum not only fostered creativity but also underscored the importance of interdisciplinary learning, laying the foundation for a well-rounded and dynamic educational environment.

Unveiling Ancient Enigmas: A Riveting Session with Author Christopher Doyle on Modern Thrillers and Timeless Mysteries

Students of Classes VIII and IX were captivated by an engaging talk from bestselling author Christopher Doyle on January 18, 2024. Having launched the first book of the Mahabharata Trilogy at our school in 2015, Doyle has continued to connect with our students online. This time, his focus was on “The Khandavprastha Conspiracy,” the trilogy’s third installment. Doyle’s eloquent discussion delved into his research on intriguing ancient mysteries, such as the Great Pyramid of Egypt, Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, and Stonehenge in England, suggesting that the ancient past conceals undiscovered secrets. He skillfully weaves these mysteries into fast-paced modern thrillers, sparking a flurry of questions from the enthralled students. The session concluded with a book signing, allowing eager readers to obtain autographed copies. According to Mr. Doyle, reading is the key to enhanced writing, increased awareness, and deeper understanding.

An Enchanting Morning with Padmashri Geeta Chandran

In collaboration with Spic Macay, Padma Shri Geeta Chandran, a distinguished Bharatnatyam artist, gave a captivating performance for students in Classes VI to VIII at on January 16, 2024. Celebrated for her finesse in Bharatnatyam, Ms. Chandran delivered an engaging lecture-cum-demonstration, seamlessly blending pure dance (Nritya) with expressive storytelling (Abhinaya). Commencing with a soulful invocation to Lord Ganesha, the performance unfolded into a captivating journey featuring a Varnam and intriguing aspects of Krishna Leela. The grand finale showcased a dynamic Thillana, skillfully performed by her senior disciple, Madhura. The lively rhythms, accompanied by live music and vocals, added depth to the entire spectacle. This mesmerizing Bharatnatyam recital was a jubilant celebration of Indian classical dance, presented by a maestro whose artistry continually inspires. A subsequent Q & A session provided students with valuable insights into different facets of this classical dance form. Spic Macay deserves commendation for fostering understanding and appreciation of rich cultural traditions among the young minds
