Independence Day 2024 was a grand affair, blending patriotism with pride as the school celebrated the struggle and sacrifice that earned us freedom. The solemn flag hoisting set the tone for the day, followed by the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Student Council for 2024-25. The Chief Guest, Brigadier Narendra Pratap Singh, a decorated second-generation Indian Army officer with over 32 years of service, administered the oaths. With an impressive career spanning the Kargil War, UN peacekeeping missions, and leadership roles in the Indian Army, Brig Singh later addressed the students with an inspiring message, reminding them to remain disciplined, to pursue their passion and always work hard to reach their goals. Appreciating the predominance of girls onstage, he motivated students to join the Armed Forces.
The day continued with the much-anticipated inter-house event, Fusion, themed “Echoes of the East.” Each house showcased the vibrant culture and freedom struggles of two northeastern states. The performances were a beautiful blend of music, dance, and poetry, with Shanti House taking the overall victory. The prestigious Achala Nadgir Awards for academic excellence were presented to Smayan Gupta and Vedant Bhanu, honouring their outstanding Class XII Board results. The event was an unforgettable celebration of patriotic fervor, talent, culture, and academic achievement.
