Thrills, Cheers, and Team Spirit: Junior Athletic Meet 2025

The much-awaited Junior Athletic Meet 2025 was celebrated with a vibrant dash of energy, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship on 17 October 2025. The honourable Chief Guest, Mr Jagseer Singh, an Arjuna Awardee, inspired the gathering by emphasizing how sports instill discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and resilience in life. Students of Classes Nursery to V showcased Yoga, Zumba, and Taekwondo with grace and confidence, followed by a range of unique and energetic races. The highlights were the grandparents’ and teachers’ races, which filled the field with joy, laughter, and the true spirit of unity through sports. Project-Based Learning: Newspaper Shoe Making

The school organised a hands-on PBL session for Class VIII on 14 October 2025,where students designed and created functional shoes using newspapers. Integrating concepts from mathematics, science, and social science, they explored aspects like cushioning, grip, and terrain suitability. The project fostered practical application of knowledge, encouraged original thinking, and enhanced collaboration. Students crafted innovative, adaptable footwear by addressing real-world challenges in design and utility. The activity not only promoted creativity but also strengthened teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through an interdisciplinary, engaging approach.

The school organised a vibrant round of inter-house sports tournaments in August for Classes IX to XII, featuring Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Badminton. These events tested participants’ coordination, focus, and stamina as they competed with determination and skill. Each match displayed not only physical finesse but also strategic thinking. The electric atmosphere, fueled by enthusiastic house supporters, made the competitions even more thrilling. These events further reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing versatile talent and promoting a culture of perseverance, unity, and respectful rivalry among students. Gender Sensitisation Session – Building Inclusive Mindsets

The school has been a strong voice for equity and empathy and on 14 October 2025, it brought that vision to life through a powerful Gender Sensitisation Session at St. Mark’s World School, Meera Bagh. Conducted by the Breaking Barriers team of Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, the session featured Mr. Sahil and Mr. Deepanshu from Naz Foundation (India) Trust. With thoughtful dialogue, experiential activities, and student-led reflections, the session explored gender roles, stereotypes, and the importance of allyship. Insightful, engaging, and reflective—this collaboration truly inspired change and understanding.

Bridging Hearts: A Gender Sensitisation Session on Empathy and Inclusion

The school has been nurturing voices of compassion and understanding. On 13 October 2025, students from Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar and East of Kailash joined hands to conduct a Gender sensitisation session for the caregivers of Salaam Baalak Trust. Through engaging activities and reflective dialogue, participants explored themes of respect, diversity, allyship, and inclusion. The session encouraged open conversations around acceptance and the importance of creating safe spaces. This meaningful collaboration offered powerful insights, reaffirming the shared commitment to building a more inclusive, empathetic, and united community—one conversation at a time.

Building Awareness – Teacher Training on Adolescent Guidance

The school organised a session ‘Building Awareness – Teacher Training on Adolescent Guidance’ on 29 September 2025. It was conducted by Pratisandhi Foundation for the teachers. The workshop focused on building sensitivity and understanding around gender, identity, and adolescent development. Teachers explored the influence of gender norms in classrooms, ways to identify unconscious biases, and methods to promote positive and inclusive behaviour. The session also emphasised calm and appropriate responses to concerning situations while adhering to guidelines under the POCSO Act. The interactive session was appreciated for its relevance and practical approach.

A Project-Based Learning session was organised for students of Class VI on 13 October 2025 on the topic Exploring How Light Reacts with Everyday Materials. Students participated in engaging experiments using mirrors, transparent sheets, and opaque objects to observe how light behaves with different materials. They explored the concepts of reflection and identified transparent, translucent, and opaque substances. The activity encouraged inquiry, observation, and analysis, helping learners connect scientific principles to everyday life and deepening their understanding of how light interacts with various surfaces.

Extempore

On 15 May 2025, the junior Inter-House Competition Extempore put participants’ quick thinking and speaking skills to the test. With just one minute to prepare and two minutes to speak, participants delivered compelling and spontaneous speeches on a variety of topics. From descriptive scenarios to sharp arguments, each speaker showcased confidence, clarity, and quick thinking. The competition celebrated the power of speech and the art of expressing ideas under pressure. As the event concluded, it was clear that Extempore showcased not only the participants’ ability to think fast but the courage to speak up.
