Save Soil – an Eco Club Initiative

Soil is undoubtedly one of Nature’s miracles. With enriched soil fast becoming a rare commodity, the Eco Club (Green Teens) hosted an extremely insightful session for students, on 29 April 2022, where Ms. Dikki Bhutia and Mr. Vineet Vohra from Karma Lakelands and Give Me Trees Trust, spoke about the vital importance of each one of us becoming an eco warrior. They pointed out that soil loss is a threat to all of us, and we must focus on a zero–waste lifestyle, to segregate waste at home, reduce reuse and recycle, make Eco Bricks, compost vegetable and fruit peels, save seeds for saplings and seed balls, and of course plant trees wherever possible. To take individual responsibility and to come back to a healthy and mindful lifestyle was the message that students took away with them. Many of them are also writing letters to the Prime Minister requesting that the Government should also initiate measures to save soil.
