Empowered Choices: Class X Sexuality Education Workshop by Pratisandhi 

On 23 August 2024, Class X students participated in a pivotal sexuality education workshop conducted by the Pratisandhi organization. The workshop addressed crucial topics such as sexual health, consent, masturbation, virginity, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The session began with a focus on informed decision-making and mutual respect, encouraging students to approach sexual activity responsibly. Masturbation was normalized as a natural behavior, breaking associated stigmas. Myths surrounding virginity and the hymen were debunked, highlighting that virginity is a social construct. Various contraceptive methods were discussed, emphasizing informed choices. Students also learned about STIs, their prevention, and the importance of regular medical check-ups. The session ended with a Q & A where students’  queries were addressed with care. This workshop provided a safe, respectful environment for exploring these topics, empowering students to make responsible and informed choices.

Progressive Minds: Class XII Students Sexuality Education with Pratisandhi

On 22 August 2024, Class XII students participated in an insightful sexuality education session conducted by the Pratisandhi Organisation. The session aimed to equip students with vital knowledge on sexual health, consent, boundaries, and the foundations of healthy relationships. The discussion began with an exploration of sexuality and gender, emphasizing self-awareness and the importance of respecting diverse identities. The facilitators highlighted the crucial role of consent and clear communication in fostering mutual respect within relationships. Through relatable examples, students deepened their understanding of these concepts. The session also distinguished between healthy and unhealthy relationships, stressing positive communication and mutual respect while identifying toxic dynamics. Safe sexual practices, awareness of STIs, and informed decision-making were covered comprehensively. Misconceptions were addressed, with myths surrounding sexuality and sexual health being debunked. The event concluded with a robust Q & A session, where  students’ concerns were addressed with sensitivity, ensuring they left informed and empowered.

Unlocking Creativity Through Design: An Insightful Workshop by École Intuit Lab

On 12 August 2024, Class XII students had the privilege of participating in an invigorating workshop on UX/UI design, led by Mr. Ankush, a distinguished faculty member from École Intuit Lab. The session was a refreshing dive into the world of creativity, urging students to challenge conventional thinking and explore fresh ideas. The workshop began with hands-on exercises aimed at unlocking creative potential, teaching students innovative methods to overcome mental blocks. Mr. Ankush’s engaging approach inspired students to break free from routine thinking, fostering a more imaginative mindset. The impact was immediate, with students enthusiastically applying their newfound creativity in class discussions and extracurricular activities. The success of this workshop has sparked a keen interest in further such collaborations to nurture holistic development and creative expression among our students.

Bully to Buddy : Empowering Students Against Bullying 

On 31 July 2024, a workshop on bullying was conducted for students of Classes IV and V, facilitated by Ms. Nimisha Sharma, an Expressive Art-Based Therapist, and Ms. Nikita Khosla, a Counselling Psychologist from Fortis Hospital. The workshop aimed to educate students about the different forms of bullying and empower them with strategies to prevent and address such behavior. Participants engaged in interactive sessions that defined bullying, explored its various types—including physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying—and discussed the emotional and psychological impacts on individuals. Through activities and discussions, students learned the importance of empathy, respect, and standing up against bullying. Feedback from participants highlighted increased awareness and a better understanding of how to respond to bullying situations effectively. This workshop not only equipped students with practical skills but also enhanced a supportive environment for open dialogue on bullying prevention.

Class VI Enjoys an Author Talk with Ms. Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan

On 24 July 2024, Ms. Shobha Tharoor, an acclaimed children’s author, visited our school to conduct an author talk for students of Class V. Ms. Tharoor read excerpts from three of her popular books: Look before You Leap, A Treasure Trove of Timeless Tales and Raja Ravi Varma. Her eloquence and the vivid descriptions captivated the students and transported them to a world of the imagination. After the reading, Ms. Tharoor opened the floor to questions from the students. The children were enthusiastic and had a variety of queries. She shared that her love for storytelling and reading as a child inspired her to write stories that would spark the imagination of young readers. The session concluded with Ms. Tharoor encouraging the students to read widely and explore their creativity through writing. She emphasized the importance of imagination and the joy that stories can bring into our lives. 

Empowering Teens: Essential Sex-Ed Session by Pratisandhi

Recognizing the crucial role of sex education in fostering healthy and respectful interactions among high school students, a sex-ed session was conducted by the NGO Pratisandhi for Class XI students on 19 July 2024. The session began with discussions on healthy versus unhealthy relationships, helping students identify the characteristics of each. Emphasis was placed on setting and respecting boundaries, crucial for maintaining healthy relationships. Engaging activities and worksheets facilitated a deeper understanding of these concepts. The importance of consent was a major focus, with clear explanations on its meaning and the consequences of its absence. The session also addressed recognizing abuse, violence, and sexual harassment, providing students with vital information on identifying such behaviors and reporting them. This comprehensive approach aimed to equip students with the knowledge and tools to navigate relationships responsibly and safely. An anonymous question-answer round at the end encouraged students to ask their doubts without hesitation.

Crafting Your Image: Tips from Ms. Neha Malhotra

Ms. Neha Malhotra, a certified image consultant, delivered an insightful Career Talk for Classes XI and XII on 9 July 2024. She engaged students in a comprehensive discussion about personality development and confidently presenting oneself. Emphasizing the importance of first impressions, she offered valuable tips for maintaining a positive image in social and professional settings. Her interactive approach captivated students, who eagerly participated in hands-on activities. Ms. Malhotra also explained personal branding, highlighting consistency and authenticity. The session was highly motivating, enhancing students’ understanding of image management and personal branding.

New Beginnings – Class XI Orientation 2024

Class XI marks a crucial stage in the academic journey of every student. To ensure a smooth transition from the secondary to the senior secondary stage, an orientation was held on 6 July 2024 for parents and students of Class XI. Ms. Isha Sood, Senior School Head Mistress, introduced the school management and teachers, discussing school rules, including punctuality, discipline and the expected mode of conduct. Ms. N. Saroj, Dean of Academics, explained the examination pattern, promotion policy, planner details, and the option of a sixth subject. She also shared important websites for updates and reference, such as www.cbse.nic.in, www.cbseacademic.in, and www.tagoreint.com. This comprehensive introduction helped students understand their new responsibilities, resources, and expectations, fostering a sense of preparedness and confidence. These sessions are instrumental in ensuring a seamless transition, enriching both the academic and social experiences of the students.

Geostrata’s Round Table with MEA

Our students Sanjana Prasad of Class X and Anika Chauhan of Class XI were invited for a Round Table Conference organized by Geostrata and the Ministry of External Affairs. Delving into the dynamics of global diplomacy and the perspectives of future leaders, the STRATA x MEA Roundtable convened at the Ministry of External Affairs, offered in-depth insights into a wide range of foreign policy issues. The event was marked by the presentation of the ‘India’s Growing Stature on the Global Stage’ report to the MEA.

Empowering Sustainability: Paper Recycling Workshop for  Samarpan Foundation

On Monday, 08 July 2024, our school hosted a workshop on Paper Recycling for the students of Samarpan Foundation. Students engaged in hands-on activities to learn about the practicalities of recycling paper and its environmental impact. The session included a guided tour of our Science Fair, enriching their understanding of scientific principles. This initiative not only promoted sustainability but also fostered a sense of environmental responsibility among participants. It was a rewarding experience that highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in creating a greener future.
