Quatorze Juillet (14 July) is celebrated as “Bastille Day” or “La Fête Nationale” in France. To commemorate this momentous occasion, TIS,VV hosted a gala celebration in the school on 20 July 2023. The Guest of Honour was Mrs Mahitha Ranjit– an acclaimed author of many books which aid students across the country in the study of the French language and culture. The students organized a cultural show replete with French songs, folk dances from France, a fashion show depicting famous personalities of France, and a fascinating quiz to test the audience’s knowledge on the same. The G -20 theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam was showcased with a song sung by our junior choir and presented in three different languages. The school cafeteria too rose to the occasion and sold delectable chocolate croissants and stuffed crepes to add a further touch of fine Gallic cuisine and complete the spirit of French Day. The students had a terrific time as well as an excellent learning experience.
