Sanskrit Diwas 2023

Based on the G 20 theme of  Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, our students celebrated   Vishwa Sanskrit Diwas on 29 August 2023. The event began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. Richa Arya, Astt. Professor, PGDAV College, Delhi. This was accompanied  by a melodious Sanskrit song, shakti sambhritam yukti sambhrita, by students of Class VII. Class VIII enacted some famous Bollywood dialogues in Sanskrit. The unique concept of miming Shlokas was much appreciated by Dr. Arya. A quiz competition between Classes VI and VII was won by the latter. This was followed by an enthralling play by  students of Classes IX and X. The event concluded with a soulful dance based on the Sanskrit song  manah shudhayati. In her address, Dr Richa emphasized the richness and deep significance of Sanskrit language and literature. She also praised the students’ efforts and encouraged them to pursue Sanskrit language in their higher studies. Senior  School Head Mistress Ms. Isha Sood gave the vote of thanks., saying that the day was just another opportunity for all of us to show our appreciation of this ancient language, Deva Vani as it is also called, which is the repository of much of our history and culture.
